Reminds me of the consternation amongst the media elites in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing. They couldn’t figure where the looters and rioters were.

Re. Myron Pauli’s post : I can certainly imagine a catastrophe that would turn Chile into something like Haiti. It’s called ‘mass immigration’ from Haiti or other third world countries. Isn’t such a catastrophe now unfolding on America’s southern border ?

It would take some supernatural catastrophe beyond an earthquake to turn Chile into Haiti. Civilized people can cope far better than a voodoo culture. However, besides the disastrous earthquake – one other common point was the visit of DICTATRESS Hillary Clinton – promising to steal (tax) money from Americans to distribute to victims, completely unauthorized by our Constitution. How different than a previous Secretary of State, John Quincy Adams, in his July 4, 1821 speech:

The pastor of our congregation brought up his experience in Chile. “An old flatbed truck goes from the farm to town, by the time the truck reaches the city it has thirty people clinging to it from every angle.” People who can share, can overcome anything.

I’ll bet Chile even had building codes in place to at least try to limit the amount of damage in the event of an earthquake. Clearly culture, an organized civil society, and rule of law matter!

Before the earth quake, Anderson couldn’t even spell Haitian. Now he and Haiti are one.
Absent any link to the Chilean’s circumstance and G’s wrath, there’s just no story here.
Even law enforcement refuses to cooperate by gunning down a few innocent looters.
