[But the urban snobs like to change laws when they flood a locality, fleeing from Mexifornia; like ban guns…-IM]

How could I forget that. They always want to bring the same broken policies that created the mess in California to their new rural neighborhoods. Socialism, welfare, taxes, bureaucratic nanny-statism, multi-culturalism, busy-body politicians, etc. They just never seem to connect the dots on why this stuff doesn't work and how it ultimately ruined the state from where they fled.

The above comment is right on. City dwellers who think they know it all move into a rural area and want it to remain the same. The locals are viewed as quaint serfs there to add character and perhaps keep the roads plowed during the winter to the ski slopes. [But the urban snobs like to change laws when they flood a locality, fleeing from Mexifornia; like ban guns...-IM]

The urban dwellers never consider that the economy is more than their cubicle in a high-rise. That rural folks live where they are because they happen to like it there and don't want to be told what to do by part-time visitors in their hill-top gated communities.

I've heard a lot of condescending remarks from politicians and urbanites about those in the country. Maybe they should think about who's growing their food when they're enjoying their cranberry infused honey glaze on cedar plank smoke salmon with side of flash sauteed broccoli during a political fund raiser.

Obama, like most politicians, is a very arrogant man. His condescending remarks reflect his own self-doubts about himself. It's amazing that a man with so few accomplishments in life is being given any consideration for the presidency. The nation is truly overcome with a level of white guilt that is mind boggling. My prediction is even if Obama gets the Democratic bid he will get slaughtered by McCain (and I'm no fan of McCain).

Living in a small town for the last 28 years has given me some perspective into Barry's mindset. This was a gold mining and logging town at one time. The enviros took that away. Then the good people of the SF bay area buy a vacation home here and love its quaintness and rural setting... so they decide to protect it. These semi-good people, very liberal regardless of party affiliation, insist that the place stand still so they can admire it. Therefore, any new business that's not an antique store or a Starbucks is frowned upon and fought tooth and nail. Barry's people, who are mostly white, don't care much for the locals. They see them as ruining the scenery. I'm sure they'd love to see us leave. Demographic cleansing is what he's really talking about, and the guns and God thing is code.

Obama and the modern Left are hoisted by their own petard. Starting in the 1930's, the Democrats promised blue-collar culturally conservative plain ole white folk the promised land - - job security, free medical care, no worries, good wages, and endless increasing prosperity - - to ordinary folk with little education and little ambition. Those with a lot of education or a lot of ambition MOVE to where jobs are or adjust their skills - they might, in fact, turn into economic conservatives. Others wait for "their jobs" to return. If 100 autoworkers can do the work formerly done by 200 autoworkers, than 100 are superfluous parasites. However, Obama and the Demagogic Party pretend that the other 100 have a permanent entitlement to the jobs. Now Obama finds it hard to win the votes of these people {in part because an ultra-liberal black Hahvahd Law School dilettante is out of step with the Appalachian Archie Bunkers} so the Messiah had a moment of candor with his elitist backers. Some will vote Democrat, some will vote Republican, and others will have a beer and go bowling instead!

If only Dr. Ron Paul was black and female.
Then we might get over the racial and gender silliness and have a very good President besides.
