A Dog Died on The Border

What was the name of that dog that died on the Arizona-Mexico border, presumably defending his rancher owner from a marauder who vanished into Mexico? Does anyone know? Put a face or a name to Robert Krentz’s faithful companion, and liberals, who really care for dogs, may come to care for their keepers, battling as they do, day-in and day-out, to keep criminal aliens off their property and away from their live stock.

The martyred dog’s owner was gunned down by a criminal alien whom he had gone to help. Arizona Rancher Krentz had raised cattle in the area of Cochise County for decades; his family had farmed along the Arizona-Mexico border for over a century.

Michelle Malkin has more.

This from “That Spot Of Bother On The Border”:

“In 2004, Time magazine described in detail how illegal aliens rushing the southern border commit property crimes and despoil the environment”:

When the crowds cross the ranches along and near the border, they discard backpacks, empty Gatorade and water bottles and soiled clothes. They turn the land into a vast latrine, leaving behind revolting mounds of personal refuse and enough discarded plastic bags to stock a Wal-Mart. Night after night, they cut fences intended to hold in cattle and horses. Cows that eat the bags must often be killed because the plastic becomes lodged between the first and second stomachs. The immigrants steal vehicles and saddles. They poison dogs to quiet them. The illegal traffic is so heavy that some ranchers, because of the disruptions and noise, get very little sleep at night.

Via Digger:

In February [2002 Krentz’] … calf was butchered by illegal alien trespassers. Two men responsible were caught. They were tried. They were found guilty. They served a total of 51 days in jail. They were also ordered to pay $200 in restitution to the Krentz ranch. The Krentz ranch has not seen a cent of that money; and, of course, our best guess is they will not because these people have been released. They either came back into the population up here in the U.S.A. or returned to Mexico.

Border animals are suffering. The four-legged creatures need your help, miserable liberals.

Based upon available news reports, you should scurry down to the crime scene, as you seem to be an eyewitness possessing facts unknown to local law enforcement. [What a stupid comment: the facts were extracted from major newspapers, such as the CSM. By your “logic,” one should not report any second-hand report.]

Does anyone know? Gunned down by a criminal alien that he had gone to help? [Victim radioed his brother to that effect; was in the habit of doing such good things. Goes to a pattern of behavior.] You know this? Did you hear or see the events unfold? Conclusions reached from a set of tracks vanishing into Mexico and the words of fellow blogger babe Michelle Malkin? [She quoted the Arizona Star, The Tuscon Weekly, and other news outlets, but I suppose your comprehension skills did not take you that far.]

CSI style crime drama invades blogosphere…. [Yeah, what are these idiots doing exaggerating a real-life murder, man!]

I’ll wait for the facts, should they be determined in this tragedy.

Thank you for writing about this Ilana. This story makes me sick. I guarantee you Juan McCain doesn’t give a you know what about this man. I think he has called for the National Guard to be sent to the Arizona border. Now he wants to protect the border? Please! I hope Americans are waking up to what’s happening in northern Mexico and along our southern border. It’s time to throw out all of the loser politicians like McCain and the others who refuse to respect our borders. Liberals love animals but they hate hard working, productive people like this man. I love your work Ilana and thank you.

Let’s see if I have this right. The United States can invade a sovereign nation such as Iraq, that has not attacked us. We waste billions of dollars fighting wars all over the world and meddling in every other nations business, but we can not protect our own borders. How pathetic! The politicians simply don’t care.
My blood boils just thinking about it. It’s time to take this country back from the corrupt politicians. Wake up America!

    1. A grammatically nit with Greg who said, ” we can not protect our own borders”. NO – we DO not or WILL not. America certainly can build a two-layer wall with day and night cameras, acoustic sensors, electronic tripwires, and automated signal processing if we had the will to do so. Are we technologically behind the Soviet Union of 1945?

    2. Meanwhile, the National Guard (militia) who are supposed to protect their states and repel invasion are sent (unconstitutionally) by President Bush/Obama to take potshots at Pushtun warlords in the name of “protecting our freedom” instead of securing our border.

    3. An idiotic War on Drugs has devastated Northern Mexico with tens of thousands of casualties and has given de facto sovereignty to murderous mobs that make billions from an “illegal” drug trade. Legalization would eliminate most of that threat.

    4. To sum it up in two words: NATIONAL SUICIDE.

Thank you Myron. You are right. I did not phrase that properly. Of course we can protect our borders, the politicians just choose not to.

    It’s national homicide, not suicide.

By the way, do Myron and other readers know the penalty for treason?

Who cares? The rancher was white and as far as I know wasn’t even a homosexual. Obviously a person who matters not to our government.

I can understand how folks might think that this story might seem over the top, but it isn’t. It is probably far worse, actually. I had to chuckle at the individual who was hoping that it might be Timmy McVeigh’s long-lost brother who may have gunned down a respected Cowman smack-dab in the middle of a pasture best paced off by the mile.

For what it’s worth, the Arizona Attorney General, a Democrat who is not exactly in Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s camp on these matters, has suggested that Krentz was done in by a drug cartel scout:

The AG, of course, is an idiot. From the article:

“[Attorney General] Goddard says cartels often place scouts in remote areas to monitor and coordinate the flow of drugs across the border, but he says the scouts aren’t necessarily trained killers.”

I don’t care if the scouts are trained ballerinas. They are trespassers, who have the gall to stake out another man’s land as if it was their “turf.”

Brett, I do not believe this story is over the top at all. I live in Houston, Texas and we regularly hear stories on the local news about illegals coming across the border onto ranch land in south Texas. Some of these people are dangerous. The problem is that the politicians are too cowardly to even attempt to close our southern border.
If this incident doesn’t cause the American people to get concerned about illegal immigration then nothing will.
