Sans Sunspots, Global Cooling Could Be Next

Regular readers of Barely a Blog will remember Phil N. Baldwin’s ground-breaking essay featured on this site last year about sun spots and global warming.

Do read or reread “Global Warming: CO2, Sunspots, Or Politics?”

Others are catching on, albeit slowly. Space Daily is reporting (in fractured syntax and grammar) that the sun has entered what appears to be a period of solar inactivity. “Solar activity refers to phenomena like sunspots, solar flares and solar eruptions.”

“Solar physicists … have observed a longer-than-normal period of solar inactivity. In the past, they observed that the sun once went 50 years without producing sunspots. That period coincided with a little ice age on Earth that lasted from 1650 to 1700.”

There have been many periods of global warming since the time of man on earth. At times it’s been as much as 7 degrees (celsius) warmer then at present and man has flourished during these times. Then there are the colder times. That’s when man has trouble. The great plagues coincided with cooling, which diminished food growing regions, and therefore the supply, which almost assuredly led to the end of many great empires. Ice ages have always caused population declines. Just the opposite happens with warming… Not that it matters to the warming fanatics.

Didn’t the great Al Gore tell us that the planet has a fever? How can one argue with such a scientific genius?

What! The sun affects climate more than the evil profit-making capitalist system. You’ll throw my fellow bureaucrats out of a job fine tuning the environment – shame!

There is NO denying we are in a period of Global Warming. The issue at hand is what is contributing to the increase in temperatures?

Is it man with CO-2 emissions or are solar/ celestial forces at work?

While I have been hearing, seen read much from that {Science expert} Al Gore, not much is being reported from the founder of the Weather Channel – John Coleman. Coleman has declared Gore is full of it and has gone so far as to sue Gore. Once gain much much news of that issue either.
Our illiterate news media don’t want to let science get in the way of a good story! [There is more to the ideology of global warming than a good story. Read “Reincarnation of the Reds.” IM]

    And I wonder:

50- 100 years from now and temperatures have declined will the
Nobel prize given to Gore be taken away?

    Al, poor Al!
    His bet on the future:
    Looks like it’s turned sour.

    Did he not learn
    (in Sunday School)
    the future is His,not his,
    to rule?

Please don’t confuse the Green Communists with facts (yes, their minds are already made up). It just makes them more determined to become fascists or Nazis.

    breath in the balance

    The Earth is quite dangerous,
    the Universe too.
    For many dangers
    there’s nothing to do
    (if there’s no God,
    we’re simply screwed).

    But with CO2,
    it’s simple indeed;
    no burning of carbon
    and please do not breathe.
