Damned Spots & Global Warming

Environmentalism & Animal Rights

My WND colleague Doug Powers comments on his blog about the documentary the Great Global Warming Swindle. The Great Global Warming Swindle page on Channel 4 is here.

I’ve been communicating with the author of “Global Warming: CO2, SunSpots or Politics?” Phil N. Baldwin, Jr. is an applied mathematician and chemist. The book

Discusses and analyzes the impact of greenhouse gases and sunspots on weather dating back to 1750. A newly devised Sun Cycle Power Index (SCPI), discovered by The LrnIT Institute, is described with demonstration on how the SCPI has a powerful and controlling impact on grand global weather patterns. This digital book is full of data yet is simple to understand and makes straightword points. This is a reference book, with many weather data sources referenced as well as substantial data included. This book is also entertaining and fascinating to read.

Some of the boffins I know ran the numbers and were impressed with this work. Phil has promised to pen an op-ed for BAB.

Great to see you bring up the global warming issue again as I’m taking heat from the global warming freaks on my blog over the issue. I don’t really mind.

But, hey, I was trying to remember that one statement you made about global warming a little while back. It was something along the line of ” When a theory can’t be disproven, it’s no longer a theory…”.

Something along that line anyway. Remember what I’m referring to?

Seems to me you posted it here within the last couple months. I’ll give credit for the quote if you remember it. That, of course, assumes I’ll find somewhere to apply in the context of the comments.

Judging from the course of commentary there now, I shouldn’t have any problem finding a place to use it.

[It’s very easy to search IlanaMercer.com for articles on environmentalism. Go to “Mercer Articles,” and click on “Environmentalism & Animal Rights.” The quote you want is in the last article I wrote. Letters that assume I have time for such instruction will not be published in future, because, as good as my intentions are, I honestly don’t have the time.]

As I said once before, I believe the world is warming up. The permafrost is melting, temperatures are rising etc. I’m no scientist but I have read, over the years, that the earth has gone through warming and cooling cycles for the last bazillion years. I will have to be convinced by someone other than the enviro-freaks like Al gore and the UN, that people and flatulent cattle are about to melt the polar ice cap.

I can’t find any way to watch that show in the UK. Too bad, it looks interesting (and overdue).

[Why? This link works well: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9005566792811497638&q=global+warming+swindle&hl=en]

I might buy Mr. Baldwin’s book after I can find a little more information about it.

Fred, I dropped a note on your blog, since it looks like you are taking a little heat over there for beating the dead horse.

James, I remember when all this started years ago, we were making jokes about cow flatulence causing global warming. What a perversion, that now they are promoting this with a straight face! Or are they checking to see who’s laughing?
