White House spokesman Josh Earnest made some mistakes when he said this: “So much of what we’re seeing on the southern border is the result of a deliberate misinformation campaign that is propagated by criminal syndicates in Central America. That misinformation is causing some people who are in a rather desperate situation to risk their lives to come to the U.S. border expecting they will be able to stay in this country. That is simply not true, and it’s important for people all across this country and others to understand facts.”
The gist of what Earnest says is correct, with minor corrections. Here they are:
“So much of what we’re seeing on the southern border is the result of a deliberate campaign that is propagated by a criminal syndicate in North America: The US government.”
“Blame a video” was Tucker Carlson’s quick, apt retort to Martha MacCallum, on “The Kelly File.”
MacCallum had reported that these individuals will be airlifted and transported to different states, where they will be housed, fed, and will lawyer up at the taxpayer’s expense. (The funds are looted from taxpayers—yes, private property confiscated.)
Martha then made an excellent point: Why not use the same commercial jets to fly these people in the opposite direction–to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador—back whence they came?
Perish the thought!
