I always read it. Jefferson the Man is quite a subject for study, and quite a role model. I recommend to any of your readers the massive 6-Volume Jefferson and His Times, by Dumas Malone, the last volume completed in 1981, before the academic gulag’s bowdlerizers could get to it. The thing about Jefferson, he did his duty, he wasted not a moment of his time, nor did he squander the advantages and opportunities set before him. Would that we all did the same.

Anyway, now that Independence Day has become yet another pageant of military idolatry, I appreciate you doing your part to re-orient our thinking towards that which is truly important to stop and take note of on the Fourth of July.
