As time passed, the Romans mixed more and more base metals with the silver of their coins. Other governments “clipped” the coinage received from the general population and then re-introduce the “lighter” coins, i.e. same value as full weight coins.

I have considered metals, but will the government confiscate it from private storage, bank storage, and from your home? How does the average person not drown in this mess?

(2) As Putin says, America is a (bullying hegemonic) parasite living beyond its means. The budget deficit is about the same size as the GDP of the 1,200,000,000 people of India. And do not forget that the deficit does NOT count the future growing obligations of the Socialist Insecurity and other exponentially growing “obligations”

(3) Congress HAS THE POWER TO BALANCE THE BUDGET. That idiotic Amendment will either cede it to the Supreme Court (the Sotomayor Sales Tax or the Alito troop withdrawal??) or will be another Kabuki farce where Congress exempts “emergency” or “off budget” spending.

(4) NOTHING HAS BEEN CUT (in this “deal”) unless you would consider Jack the Ripper promising to “rape 5 less women in 2025” some sort of milestone. Has National Public Radio been cut? NEA? HUD? Agriculture? National Endowment for the Humanities? Amtrak? Afghanistan? Drug War? “Education”? Fannie? Freddie? Libya? F-35?

(5) If Americans want higher spending, then they should pay higher taxes!!
