(2) The GOOD Byrd defended the Senate against the modern Caesars and their warmaking / rulemaking just like the old Roman Senate tried to hold on to its powers. He was one of the few in a position of power to stand up to Bush’s nonsensical claims of an imminent Iraqi threat in 2002.

(3) However, like the Roman Senators, the BAD Byrd (and the other old Buffaloes like Specter, Grassley, Kennedy, Inouye, Stevens)
was a corrupt Porkmeister who had no hesitation in stealing taxpayer money
(which should be used ONLY to defend our lives, liberties, and property) to make the Robert Byrd Freeway / Post office / Library, etc.

(4) In that sense, Byrd epitomized the constitutional checks and balances that Madison sought to reign in federal power. Sadly, when all branches work TOGETHER to destroy liberty, we suffer.
