Beck is a Mormon, so for him america might be more “divinely inspired” than other faiths.

Beck might have confused the Confederate Constitution (which is very like the American one) with state seccession ordnances. The latter WERE focused mainly (but not exclusively) on slavery.

Of course, we could blame a lot of the Civil War mess on the select group of New England slave-traders and wealthy Southern planters who wanted to make a quick buck by kidnapping and transporting hundreds of thousands to Africans to a continent to exist in a state of subjugation (as well as their descendants). Perhaps one should be leery of those who want to enshrine special “employment opportunities” for millions of imported cheap wetback labor circa the 21st Century.

I only hope that with the availability of things such as the Confederate Constitution online, more people will become educated concerning the lies that this government and the two headed beast that run it, feed us constantly. I receive these e-mails on occasion, “America is a Christian nation and we must have a country that follows God’s Laws” and cringe inside. I don’t think modern Christians realize what that means; but then, I have numerous Christians tell me how they envy the ‘Muslim Nations’ because there isn’t any Crime, drunkenness or loose morals there. Mr. Beck’s willingness to mix fact and fiction only helps to encourage that type of thinking.

This is what comes of having the progressives in charge of the schools, and the schools in charge of the icons.

There’s nothing that can turn the profane into the sacred like a good victim and martyrs (Lincoln, M. L. King) make the best victims. For every bit of good Beck and others like him do they do bytes of harm – re-consecrating the icons and reinforcing the memes; Union over State, collective over individual, big over small.

For one, I'm uncomfortable in the extreme with his passionate assertion that America is divinely inspired. When theologians use that term, it has a precise meaning, pertaining only to the holy scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. That episode with the group portrait of famous Americans with Christ, the Constitution, etc. frankly creeped me out, for example. If America is divinely inspired, then of course that must give us a mandate to "make the world safe for democracy". The other major problem I have of course is his endorsement of the Lincoln Myth. How can we hope to repair the damage we've sustained if we continue to believe the lies and go along with the unconstitional precedents this tyrant and criminal set a century and a half ago?
