And he should take lessons from people like Theo Van Gogh and others who faced the punishment. So obviously we’re here to warn him and remind him that he’s going to remain holed up as long as he insults Islam and Muslims.
Interviewer: Is that going to be construed a threat, what you just said?
Well, obviously I’m saying, I’m not saying that I’m personally am going to carry out, but, he needs to know that there are Muslims in every corner of the earth, and these people they all have the love for the message of Mohamed [blah blah aleikum Islam]. And in the message of Mohamed he said, ‘the one who insults any of the prophets, kill him.’ That is a capital punishment. This phenomenon is disturbing for what it says of Britain’s dhimmi culture; not about the bum who should be deported to a sandy place. Speaking and publishing under the threat of injury or death: this is one of the defining libertarian issues of our times. A society that allows into its midst a sizable contingent whose members, as a matter of creed, threaten to kill countrymen guilty of speech they deem offensive—that society is sick. It will not survive.

And you are right Ilana that we are not far behind. I read this morning that the UN Commission on Human Rights has appointed an idiot from Brazil to investigate human rights abuses in the US – due to the lack of affordable housing in the big cities. A Brazilian! The land of opportunity, shanty towns, and vigilante justice!!
The attack against the First Amendment continues in this country – I am waiting for the Second Amendment to be trampled, and then the rest.
Next week’s elections (esp. NJ), if the Democrats are tossed out, may put the brakes on this Congress’ takeover of the country.
I had a friend who was a Texas Highway trooper during the “Civil Rights Protests” (Same message, different messengers) and he told me what the front line ‘protesters’ were saying to the officers on the line in private. It weren’t pretty.
So – let me get this straight – we let people like these immigrate to the West and threaten free speech while the West sends drones to Badguyistan to bomb wedding parties 10,000 miles away.

I have friends on the left who consider me the enemy…what an odd world we live in. I believe in free speech and I’m glad these rabid fundamentalists are out in the open where we can see them, make note of their names and watch them. These people are very dangerous.

I don’t believe in vast conspiracies to bring down the West, hatched in James Bondesque hideouts. Furthermore, we’re not threatened by an eventual police state, but by a very real ‘mommy state’. Vast numbers of people, mostly women, got educated in the social sciences in the late 60’s and 70’s, and they have now reached positions in which they can define and implement policies. They want you to be ‘nice’, and like most moms, act as benevolent tyrants. Mommy knows best, does not really tolerate dissent, and will punish you for saying bad words. Guess mommy just ordered us to go to bed and close our eyes.

I was talking to one of the apartment maintenance men. Not your average political aficionado. Twice he mentioned he thought we were headed for a civil war in this country over the forced health insurance. That surprised me. I suggested later he should keep his job because a depression might be coming. He said “We are already in one”.
It would be amusing to speculate how authorities would deal with such an Islamic street demonstation in Beijing.
