Aaron Swartz: Parasites Have the Power To Kill The Host

Government, Human Accomplishment, Intellectual Property Rights, Liberty, Private Property, Technology

Aaron Swartz got too big for his boots, so the government decided to make life unbearable for the gifted young man, who had created more value for shareholders and customers when just a kid in short pants than any of the nogoodniks who prosecuted him. Yeah, freedom baby.

US media tries to forget the late Mr. Swartz . RT has not:

Swartz was a 26 year-old information transparency activist, who took his own life nearly two years ago, having faced a standoff with the government.
When he was just 14, tech prodigy Swartz helped launch the first RSS feeds. By the time he turned 19, his company had merged with Reddit, which would become one of the most popular websites in the world.
But instead of living a happy life of a Silicon Valley genius, Swartz went on to champion a free internet, becoming a political activist calling for others to join.
Swartz drew the FBI’s attention in 2008, when he downloaded and released about 2.7 million federal court documents from a restricted service. The government did not press charges because the documents were, in fact, public.
He was arrested in 2011, for downloading academic articles from a subscription-based research website JSTOR – at his university – with the intention of making them available to the public. Although, none of what he downloaded was classified, prosecutors wanted to put him in jail for 35 years.

Yes, The Plan IS To Import Ebola Patients

Africa, Barack Obama, Foreign Aid, Government, Healthcare, Morality

IT’S TRUE. What I reported earlier today, tentatively, has come to pass. The traitors who art in DC are considering using American taxpayer dollars to bring Ebola-afflicted foreigners to the US for treatment. Treason, theft and fraud have been rolled into one “Sensitive But Unclassified, Predecisional” memo, exposed by Fox News, denied and ignored by the malfunctioning mainstream media. (I’ve captures a section; the rest will have to be read on Fox News):

Ebola

The scandal: “State Department memo on Ebola policies.”

Contrast the Australian response of “No thanks.”

“Immigration Minister Scott Morrison announced ‘strong controls’ on arrivals from West African countries affected by cases of the deadly disease.”

More sanity.

Intentionally Importing Ebola?

Barack Obama, Government, Healthcare

The Daily Kurse claims it’s all a vast right-wing conspiracy. Judicial Watch, however, has refuses to put anything past Barack Obama and has, duly, filed a Freedom of Information Act Request for any plans by the Administration to use Phoenix Air to evacuate or transport persons infected with the Ebola virus.

I assume the JW thinking is that the knaves in the White House might attempt to use any ploy to hide their cunning scheme.

Read the request. The reason for it: A suspicion that the “Administration … plan[s] to bring non-citizens to US for Ebola treatment.”

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, initially told Fox News that his office has received “information from within the administration” that such plans are being developed. So far, only American Ebola patients have been brought back to the U.S. for treatment from the disease epicenter in West Africa.

New Jersey and New York Move To Protect Citizens

Barack Obama, Federalism, Government, Healthcare, States' Rights

The federal behemoth rises on its hind legs whenever a state stands up for its 10th Amendment constitutional rights: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Barack Obama went to war against Arizona when the plucky governor of that state enforced immigration laws to protect her citizens. The same Strongman is trying to strong-arm New Jersey and New York leadership for taking defensive measures to protect their citizens from possible infection with Ebola, a disease that, as Jonah Goldberg put it, “liquifies your insides.”

No sooner had the Cuomo and Christie administrations announced “a new mandatory quarantine policy” for “medical workers who had contact with Ebola patients in West Africa”—than Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s resolve began to crumble. Via The New York Times:

Facing fierce resistance from the White House and medical experts to a strict new mandatory quarantine policy … after urging calm on Thursday night, then joining Mr. Christie to highlight the risks of lax policy on Friday, Mr. Cuomo on Sunday night appeared to try to dial back his rhetoric and stake out a middle ground.

MORE.

My guess is that Christie’s decision on Ebola precautions will bolster the governor’s sagging approval numbers.
