The GOP has gone from being worthless to actively colluding with evil (well, hell, they’ve done that before). Evangelicals have gone from supporting Israel to enthusiastically endorsing genocide of other Christians (well, they’re probably the wrong kind of Christians, right?). The Democrats have stayed consistent. Consistently evil. The American People have remained consistent. Consistently supine.

About all we can hope for now is Divine Intervention.

It is unbelievable dear lady. One thing that is strikingly inaccurate is the numbers regarding killed and injured. Two common terms used in warfare though what is being perpetrated is not warfare and the volumes of people who have been starved to death, crushed under rubble and murdered via lack of healthcare or medicine is unimaginable. When the ridiculously low estimates of people who are dead it is yet another antidotal lie that flies in the face of reality and enables the slaughter to continue.
Can anyone really believe that if 1.5 million or more are displaced over 4 months ago with only the clothes on their backs and whatever they could carry has had a 15% casualty rate. No food streams nor potable water would kill more than that even without the bombs. Sally said add a zero onto the reported casualties. Which likely would could without unreasonability calculate doubling even that number. I can type it is abominable behavior for a society to undertake such actions.
I can understand how most people choose to not partake of the blood lust that Likud has started. I was flabbergasted when I heard a woman of whom I had respect for state on national television ( let Israel do what it has to ) just beyond anything I would have expected a human to say.
What could a grade school of children have done to deserve cruel death let alone thousands of children. Wickedness on high Ilana is the time and how any military could pursuit such is beyond comprehension. Stop. Rank and file IDF, those are humans not darn grass to be mowed and obliterated. When You meet your maker ( I was following orders ) won’t cut it. Believe it. Think how to stop the madmen from killing everyone. That is not necessary yet almost certain on current course of actions.
Mercy shown unto the merciful, forgiveness unto those who seek it and atone. To kill unarmed civilians is not acceptable conduct and regardless what is said by anyone you know better. Stop it immediately: so much trauma will already have to be dealt with that adding to it is ridiculous for any educated society.

I’m as guilty as anyone of tuning out the ongoing atrocity. It shouldn’t be tuned out, not if you’re an American. As usual, we’re in way too deep. So I’m grateful for this blog (and a few others), to get me back up to date. In 4 days, we’ll take note of 2nd anniversary of the current “special military operation” in Ukraine (the wider conflict, as Putin said recently, really began in 2014, Nuland handing out cookies in Maidan Square, and all that). Hard as it is to believe, we are on the verge of global war. Especially as these two conflicts grow together.

And at the root of it is our beloved US. In our name, our leaders continue to do the wrong thing, say the wrong thing. The blood on our hands is incalculable. And its only through principled journalists like Glenn Greenwald and Gonzalo Lira (RIP), LIKE ilana Mercer that we have access to the truth.
