Most of the gasbags mentioned as being “experts” have attended universities that are strung out along the Axis of Epistemology that goes from Georgetown to Cambridge, Massachusetts. They are better applied mathematicians than economists.

As for the those academics who might have predicted it, why be a killjoy and speak the truth?

You might lose out on tenure at one of the “best” universities much less become a learned expert (sic) like Krugman.

"ZAKARIA: Why did NOBODY anticipate this?" NOBODY - such as Peter Schiff, Ron Paul, a lot of the Lew Rockwell contributors - the same NOBODY like Ilana and myself and Anthony Zinni that said repeatedly that "Saddam WMD" was bunko and the Liberation of Iraq was an impending disaster. The Mainstream jerk-offs limit themselves to Republican-Democrat Welfare-Warfare statist posturing and do not allow NOBODY to express the truth. Maybe Zakaria and the statists cannot handle the truth! They certainly can't handle the Constitution, limited government, non-fiat currency! Maybe NOBODY (e.g. Austrian economists, libertarians...) should be on TV instead of these pompous mainstream hacks.
