I first encountered McClintock when he ran against Ah-nold (Schwarzenegger) for Governor of CA in a debate. My thought then was there was someone with some real principles running against an ambitious opportunist. Certainly my judgment on Ah-nold proved correct (California’s spending was worse under him than “liberal” Gray Davis).

I am amazed that anybody is surprised by Stupak voting yes. People need to learn a political fact of life. There is no such thing as a “pro life” Democrat or a “moderate” Democrat or a “middle of the road” Democrat. Only a Democrat. They are all slithering serpents. (I better quit calling Democrats serpents. I’m starting to get hate mail from snakes everywhere.) OK, I know the Republicans are no paragons or virtue, or intelligence, but they don’t hold a candle to their “colleagues” across the aisle. What a crock..

I’m glad that Deem and Pass is dead; I can’t say the same about the fact that the bill itself is still alive. The more I see of Michele Bachmann, the more respect I have for her. She is developing a stronger base than her sister Sarah, without the ‘glamor’ publicity. Being a Republican female she is called a ‘wingnut’ along with Sarah, but responsible voters can see that there is more to her than just a photogenic figure.
