220 years ago, it made sense when the 13 colonies united into a USA that would keep America apart from European intrigues lest France, Prussia, Russia, England exploit state rivalries and carve up states into spheres of influence. That danger disappeared in 1867 when France left Mexico (with a dead Hapsburg behind), Russia departed Alaska, and the Brits quasi-departed Canada. For another generation, the USA concentrated on its own business – the Army’s mission was to stop Sitting Bull from harassing railroads.

Then came McKinley, Teddy Roosevelt, and (the worst) Messiah Wilson and the collective USA now “had” to manage the planet. DOES ANY OTHER COUNTRY DO THIS??!! Does Hu Jintao and his generals attempt to bribe/propagandize/bully the USA into nominating Romney instead of Gingrich in 2012? Does Germany bribe Pakistanis and lecture Malaysian politicians? How would America react to foreign interference in our affairs – we would be damned pissed! But America constantly debates who to back, what to say, whom to bribe, etc. in Egypt etc. as if the Egyptians should pay a hoot to us. Half of them earn less than $ 1000 / year and the concept of elections plays second fiddle to “what’s for dinner”.

Having been to Egypt a short while ago, one of the big frustrations with the vast majority of the Egyptian citizens there is the ignorant and easily inflamed / manipulated masses that flood their country every week through immigration. Those masses offer little if anything to the Country itself, but extract many benefits from it. They are uneducated, unskilled and lack proper health-related practices. But, they are used as a political example of the ‘oppressive regime’ in Egypt. There is a very real power struggle going on between a minority faction and the established government. Basically, about 60,000 organized protesters have held the millions of citizens ‘hostage’ by their vandalizing and subversive manner. The American media is only showing one area of Cairo where the rioters are strong, and don’t show the dozens of areas all over the Country where the people are rallying support of the government. A lot of misinformation is ‘leaked’ out to confuse Americans into rallying a sense of support for the very factions that are trying to destroy a beautiful Country. So many Americans are just uninformed with truthful information, and know virtually nothing about the real Egyptian people, their culture, history and traditions. In many ways, their sense of life and its harmony with God and nature, are centuries ahead of most other cultures I’ve studied. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds, and who is really behind the disruption.
