MB, I’m assuming you refer to 2012 as the next presidential election, but I think I’d prefer to wake to a Mayan disaster. It’d be less ugly and far more fair than anything we’re likely to see.

In any case, I’m tempted to drop my health insurance just because they are going to make me purchase it.

M.B.'s "wading through crap" is about right. Naturally, 98% of the Congress will vote on the bill without reading it. Nor will they bother to read the 28 words of the 10th Amendment. The mainstream media, academia, Big-Pharma, lobbyists, etc. will just wear down the people little by little until health care is all a socialized enterprise (even if some of the oinking is "nominally" in private hands). Remember that Ross Perot made his billions off the Medicare system. Whether the person deciding what operation you may or may not be allowed is a "government employee" or a "Blue Cross employee" following regulation 1.23.456-j subparagraph 789 makes little difference.

How you can wade through such crap is beyond me. I used to wonder how the Lord could punish entire societies for the sins of a few but now I know. He waits till the corruption has spread far and wide and then Judges, sparing a few here and there.

Wake me in 2012.
