My own take on the debates is that the terminology for politics has been destroyed by political slanting that no one can give a clear concise answer to any question. For example, Paul has to say “Don’t profile” despite the fact that profiling is necessary in everything one does in judging anything you do in life, simply because the Democrats have made profiling a racism matter rather than common sense.

Finally – this says all you really need to know about the Republicans. Even if you add Bachmann on domestic policy or Huntsman on foreign policy to Ron Paul as alternatives to the Mega-Big-Government guys like Gingrich, Romney, Cain, and Perry – it looks hopeless:

After a 13 hour long day and dinner, the umpteenth blatherfest had me dozing in and out but my initial impressions:

Ron Paul’s views are quite sound but he often made ideologically sound points the wrong way at the wrong time. Ending the Pot War and social benefits to illegals are great but came off jumbled. Newt jumped on Ron on the Tim McVeigh remark – but note how the “nuclear mushroom cloud” is the perpetual excuse by the “conservatives” for every occupation, torture, and Civil Liberty violation conjured up by the minds of the paranoid warmongers.

Between Obama and the Red Meat Warmongering Bloodlust Republicans, Huntsman is almost a breath of fresh air. He’s a statist but less socialistic than Obama and less Empire building than the Bushian loonies. I can hardly care if Obama gets 4 more years over the Bush retreads.

Meanwhile, the neocons will help Al Queda recruiting and fight more wars to the last Israeli. Foreign aid, bases in Europe, alien amnesty, Martian exploration, scrapping civil liberties, and new fighter planes are all fine so that the Empire can keep growing like a puffed up frog ready to burst.
