Americans by the tens of thousands have written, e-mailed,gathered in huge groups to protest this travesty and the political leadership not only ignores us but strike out with slanderous lies about us being Nazis and all the rest. People are up in the air and threatening to turn the bums out of office etc, etc. Maybe and maybe not. I have to see the public carry through with their threats. The democrats figure that even if we do vote many of them out the republicans won’t have the cajones to rescind the law because they are afraid to be labeled racist. Everyone talks a good game and the legislative slime balls in Washington certainly deserve to be booted out, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I don’t see a problem making health care a right. It would be the same as our right to education. Do what the French do and relieve doctors of the fear of liability and the high cost of medical school as well as the need to run a business. The French model does not run independently of health insurance companies, it just better regulates them. As a federal employee I have had the kind of coverage that the current bill seeks to afford. My coverage is provided by a health insurance company, but I cannot be excluded or denied coverage based upon my health history.

[My dad, who coined “The Age of the Idiot,” would love that it is being used by readers on the site.]
