A big takeaway in this column…& Murray’s book…& your book is the rather Christian (I think) injunction to treat individuals individually, even as you heed the generally accurate knowledge derived from stereotypical group behavior. My co-workers are all generally tolerable, even warm, friendly, & humorous, one on one, but I would abstain from a Mardi Gras street party in Mobile, or a Juneteenth celebration on the south side of Chicago.
