This is only right. We should not take Haiti on as a project. We’ve poured billions of dollars down that corrupt rat hole to no avail. (Sounds like American cities, but I digress.) Haiti, like Africa, is a feel good project for American leftists. However, in years to come, We’ll feel good about our generosity, at least the stupid ones among us, but the poor, barely out of the stone age Haitians will still be languishing in grinding poverty, and voodoo.

I replied that I paid my taxes last year, so my donation has already been made for me.

Just like New Orleans, Haiti is black-ruled. The blacks rule their island with no interference from whites (unless you count all that foreign aid), everything is black-owned, etc. It is essentially everything American blacks say they want. Yet, for some reason, it doesn’t seem to be working out very well.

Curious, that.

Haiti had a large garment industry at one time, until Aristide and his “liberation theology” came along. Mixing it with a healthy dose of Marxism, he demonized the foreign owners of the sweatshops and made life so difficult (and dangerous) for the expatriate management that they simply closed up shop.

Aristide of course was later kicked out and was briefly a man without a country until his communist buddies in the ANC rescued him. He now lives in comfort in South Africa sustained by the few remaining taxpayers there.

The minute The Gap or any clothing firm sets up shop in Haiti, the NY Times will be whining about “slave wages” and “sweat shops.”

(Black humor) contains the line, “Poor guy, Focused on Truth in a society dominated by Fairness.” Today, Obly appears focused on fairness in a country dominated by truth. That’s alright though because Alice will meet the Mad Hatter in chapter three and it is because I said it was.

Mr. Kristof should look to the one tried and true means of dealing with obdurate, maladjusted, maladaptive, degenerate societies – full-scale, unmitigated, unapologetic… colonialism.

Uncle Sam has squandered tens of billions of dollars on Puerto Rico, yet Puerto Rico is still a Third World island.

Ilana is correct when she says,”…utilized most efficiently.”
