In that sense, it is quintessential American. Get rid of the commies and Thomas Jeffersons will sprout up in Uzbekistan – get rid of Batista and Cuba will become a Paradise – get rid of Mubarak and women will be liberated – get rid of the National Party and South Africa becomes heaven …. Yabba blather ad tedium.

Nature abhors a political vacuum and it is difficult to know who gets to triumph over the next 20 years in Egypt: chaos (like Somalia), the Moslem Brotherhood, “secular democracy” (and the Mainstream Media’s messiah Mohammed El Baradei), or a newer version of military rule with some civilian (Turkish style) fig leaf:
