My comments on this:

1. Ron Paul neither condemned nor specifically praised Manning so once again, his opponents are ADDING WORDS to him that were not said!

2. Most leaks come from high level government people to their media buddies – I know of some specific SECRET things that I worked on that wound up getting leaked (selectively, of course) once it got to the White House.

3. Paul was contrasting government people who violate laws with impunity and who lie to the public with “whistleblowers” in general.

4. Arguably, it was vague whether he thinks that Manning should suffer the consequences of disobedience or not. As I mentioned before, sometimes Dr. Paul is overly incendiary over some semi-academic nits that lead to misinterpretation.

Having said that, I know it is hard, and you will never see me taking the public stage to fend off the hyenas that are arranged to take him down. But if Ron had the quick mind and speaking abilities of Pat Buchanan he’d more be effective in convincing people that his ideas are correct.

Most people I know who like Paul already arrived at their views on the welfare/warfare state and were not converted to that position by Paul. Thus, when Paul came along he was preaching to the choir.

But I see him having a harder time convincing those who need convincing because he doesn’t speak in complete sentences and changes his thought patterns frequently. I know he is intelligent, but public speaking is not his strong suit. If he could present himself like Buchanan, he’d be a serious threat.

The only exception was the table leader also said that we had to keep all the troops in all of the other countries because someone might attack us if we didn’t keep them under a tight leash. Alright, the tight leash was my interpretation of his comment why we must stay there to protect them because they love and need us. Never mind that the Japanese threw their prime minister out a couple of years ago; because, he agreed to a new US base on Okinawa. Personally, I still am of the mind that the president has no real power; but, is the weather vane for Congress. It’s been proven time and again, that with a Democrat President and a Republican Congress or vice versa government encroachment slows. If we can get a true conservative (not Republican or Democrat Conservative) Congress, we will reverse the course of government, otherwise, nada, zilch, nein and none. Paul as the only true conservative will be less effective than Carter was.

Yes that was my thinking as well. Evidently he is leading Iowa by a wider margin than we know or they would be saving their powder. One thing for certain is that after Senator Paul wins Iowa there wil be a coordinated character assault not seen since Goldwater in the 60’s, and Buchanan in the 90’s. One thing about the GOP leadership is that once they decide who it will be, who it MUST be,(in this case Romney)they will not wait to see the white in their opponents eye before killing every man, woman and child in their way. It has been so since the days of Sherman and hasn’t changed much except now they have the South convinced it is good for them!
