Did I miss that discussion?

I wont lie – I’m not made of the same stuff as Ron Paul. I can’t keep hearing bogus arguments and remain unfatigued, although I’m building up a tolerance to it. But I am becoming more sure about the ideas that I have. If I can debate with a professor on political economy without embarassing myself, how much threat does a regular American who believes in this claptrap pose?

I will say that I have, however, come to question some ideals that I previously had. After hearing about our gush about the new gender bending of our time, and the ‘awesomeness’ of things such as female Mixed Martial Arts (two women fighting against each other), I felt something in my gut that said that something might be wrong.

I used to ignore such things, but after reading a lot of ethical intuitionist writings – especially from Michael Huemer – I’m wondering if the previous thoughts I had on these things were incorrect. I saw a lot of people have the same reactions as me to this.

Maybe this is just cultural conditioning – or maybe there is something deeper there that I need to think through. I’m not sure.

Perhaps this political science course might be valuable to me after all.

I wonder if some kind of deal could be set up with a school that is not too far gone so that students could receive CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for doing the reading and debating.

It is important to continue to champion the cause of liberty with those around you. I have recently graduated from a university, and remember what that environment is like. I came to the conclusion that staying silent would make me complicit to the corrupt philosophy that permeates our culture. Thankfully there are still people like Dr. Paul in the world– not to mention Ms. Mercer, who introduced me to the wider world of classical liberalism.

[It’s gratifying to know there are young people like you & Alex out there.–IM]

I have to say that after I got into the argument with my professor, I have become pretty much non-caring about offending people. That is not to say that I will be rude from now on – but I will no longer hide the fact that I am a classical liberal. Maybe the argument – and the thoughts that I had to sort through afterwards – was the turning point for me.

I don’t know if it’s any importance to any of the posters on this blog, but I am doing my deed for liberty; I continue to debate the cause of liberty with my professor (who has now calmed down a bit) and my classmates.
[Go Alex!–IM]

Some of them are showing a sense of anger towards to State right now, even. I am shocked – maybe there is hope.

I will continue to speak out about it – and I hope that people on here do the same.

Americans are partly dumb because they are not exposed to correct thought. They cant help that unless we help them. Ron Paul’s media attention shows that there might be some hope left after all.

Ron Paul has been correct. So the democratic response is to allow the people who have screwed up to KEEP screwing up. That, by the way, is not to say that Ron Paul or I or others have “answers” to the bad debt. Bad debt is BAD – the housing prices cannot arbitrarily be pumped up by more easy credit without an even worse problem occurring at a later date. Notice, by the way, that when Congress properly did not vote for the rape (oops, I mean “rescue”), they got blamed for the market going down. Well, they did agree to rape those with savings with more funny money and the market went down further today. Where is the explanation now? Oops, I guess the Plutocratic-Socialistic Funny Money addicts and the sheeple need MORE easy credit. And from now on, anyone who makes a bad economic decision will demand (and, with enough influence, get) a “bailout” – although they will grow more and more worthless.
