When I was young and inexperienced, I was moderately conservative, and usually voted Republican, but sometimes voted for an occasional Democrat; but now much older and more experienced and hopefully wiser, I am becoming more and more conservative, although I still occasionally vote for a conservative Libertarian.

I am happy Mr. Buchanan respects you as a fellow conservative and did so by inscribing his book for you. We readers of Barely a Blog, however, have known this about you for years and “we ain’t chopped liver, Lady!” Keep up the good fight.

Ilana, the way things are going, I hope you are a SPEED READER! I do not think we have that much time – 2025 indeed – and that a 5 to 10 year window at the max if corrections are implemented within this next year or two.

Survive until 2025 – hell, the stupid government is operating with continuing resolutions every 6 weeks (like
Bolivia or some other 3rd world country)! The deficit exponential looks to be reaching the Wiemar-Zimbabwe singularity in 2017 – so 2025 is truly optimistic.

I’m glad Buchanan appreciates you although I don’t know that being called a “Conservative” is a compliment these days after Bush, Cheney, and their crew gave us “compassionate” conservatism. [This is misguided.]

Even “liberal” was not a derogatory word in the heyday of Jefferson and Cleveland until the political left ran a muck with their ideas from 1933 onward.
