The following is from my new, WND column, “The 2 Parties’ Question: How Much To Steal”:

“… If I understand the Republican line for the coming midterms, it is that, thankfully, there is a smart, economically stimulating way for the State to spend money it had lifted from the private economy (and, in the process, crowded out private, productive economic activity).

Time and again, Republicans will explain to us of the booboisie that the stimuli consisted of misguided spending so typical of Democrats, instead of precision-guided make-work projects, the hallmark of Republikeynesian economic ‘thought.'”

With few exceptions, Republican politicians, and their matching Tweedledim and Tweedledimmer cable personalities, seem incapable of countering the fiction that vests central planners with the ability to create viable jobs by appropriating private property, and redistributing it, based on bureaucratic and political considerations.

The unsparing critique the likes of dodo Perino, Newt, Dick, Karl, et. al, will invariably voice is that the Dems did not apply the stolen funds the way one ought to have; as the GOPers would have.” ….

UPDATE (Aug. 27): Wiley hereunder, in the Comments Section, clearly misunderstands an ad hominem argument. My column has some fun with Fox’s affirmative females, after which their “arguments”—“things go in cycles“/Republicans would ‘stimulate‘ better than the Dems”—were showcased for their profound folly. This is not ad hominem. Had I presented Dana dunderhead’s “case” for economic recovery without the spice, no one would read this column.

The scathing indictment of the two major political parties just presented here is all too true. Mercer has once again hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial head. Since there will never be a third party, at least not in the forseeable future, what’s to be done? I have no good ideas in this area and it appears that nobody else does either.

Ilana, first thank you for your courageous style. It is much needed and much appreciated by some, and a “door-opener” to most who’ve always followed what the “Thieves” have told them. Big-Change is in the “process” even as I type, and it isn’t what our current “Commander-in-Thief” invisions. I don’t pretend to know your intentions…but nonetheless you ARE a “shining-light” in the “darkness” and for that I say Thank You!

Your mindless and unskilled use of argumentum ad hominem renders this piece invalid and unworthy of consideration, regardless of the veracity of any of your claims.

Exactly. Brovo!!! I left the Republication party because I got sick of the outright violations of their oath of office to defend, protect and follow the US Constitution. If they actually spent some time reading the document they would find out most of their arguments and beliefs are totally unconstitutional. Most, are not against the unconstitutional stimulas plans, they just do not agree to how to the amount spent or to how it was spent. The Republicans and the Democrats both are pushing us into an outright communist dictatorship. The Republications just promise us they will take a little longer. I for one, got sick a long time ago of voting for the lessor of two evils. THanks for the great article.

Entitlements and other indiscriminate and idiotic acts of largesse and larceny are sinking this nation into a hole we may never be able to climb out of.
Ronald Reagan oncesaid, “Government does not solve problems, it subsidizes them.” The only question really is, how. For the growing number of con men, schemers and outright criminals and their shenanigans in DC there is a disproportionately greater(and growing)number of nitwits and morons on the private sector side thinking that changing the players without changing the rules will result in a different outcome, (see Einstein’s theory on insanity), all contributing to an even bigger fiasco, due anytime now. And still talks of new taxes continue, even in a sinking economy. Recently congress has been toying with the idea of converting private sector monies, 401ks, pension plans, (read, real monies)into government bonds. Mr. Obama and his minions on both sides of the aisle have ushered in the ‘New, New Deal’ and the verdict is in; we’re screwed, thanks in large part to the big disconnect, where people think money grows on trees instead of other’s pockets.
“If someone robs Peter to pay Paul, they’ll always have the approval of Paul.”

One party, two party, three party, four; Does it really matter anymore, did it ever? I know the country has never been the great shining star since the Putrid Lincoln overthrew the Constitution while war while slaughter and pillage was taking place.

Washington is the enemy of the people as are the legislatures of each and every state. While all this strife is taking place the politicians in every state are passing draconian bills that will take your meat and potatoes. The only thing that keeps bad guys from taking what you have is the threat of being shot to death. Always was always will be.

Until America is ready to be the America of their Fathers we will continue to sink into the mire of Global Elitism. My old group of Patriots, kin and neighbors are afraid to be too closely associated with me for fear that I will shine the light on their cowardliness.

I am seventy two and the only real brave patriots that i can find are the wives and women of common sense such as you Ilana. Honestly the women are the only brave people I meet. Men, ha show me some, they are all at the trough swilling down whatever the corporate heads are shoving in. Even old vets seem to not want any lime light, oh yea the Tea Parties, what about the tea parties; Hide in plain sight is what the Tea parties are all about. Pull them out and stand them alone and watch them fade. They are a start but until they are marching armed with live rounds they will not be heeded and will be arrested soon.

Two party system, nope “No Party System” is what we need. No Republican, no Democrat, no party, just standing on principles. Outlaw parties and we might be able to stand a single person on stage and shine a light on his deeds. Who said we had to have parties anyway, no damn parties.

I have been reading you since you came on the scene Ilana and you are still just as brilliant as always; can not close without saying gorgeous to boot. It is kick, claw and bite time, no time to be nice, stay on em Lady.

To Wiley; I have read Ilana for some years. I usually agree. I occasionally disagree. But I am always challenged to think. She is never mindless and certainly never unskilled. You sound like you got your feelings hurt and can’t deal with it.

George Bush’s “brain”, speechwriter, and theorist Michael Gerson on what the Republicans really stand for (Hint – statism):

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/08/24/AR2010082405001.html

And here’s professional lobbyist huckster Republican Trent Lott on the subject:

“Former Senate majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.), now a D.C. lobbyist, warned that a robust bloc of rabble-rousers spells further Senate dysfunction. ‘We don’t need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples,’ Lott said in an interview. ‘As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them.’” Source:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/17/AR2010071702375.html

This is basic Republikeynsianism – a socially/religiously more conservative and globally militaristic version of Democratic Statism.

If the government spent $ 4000 / person on authorized Article 1 Section 8 powers – that would be $ 1.2 Trillion which should more than cover defense, harbor drainage, border patrols, foreign embassies, anti-piracy, and even some coordination of transportation protocols under the post office/roads power. That much can probably be raised without a personal income tax. The rest of the budget is UNCONSTITUTIONAL (in spite of Gerson’s nonsense interpretations) and whether it comes from “taxing the rich” (who receive a large amount of government giveaways), debasing currency, or borrowing – it is ALL obscene and both parties will continue our national slide into financial Armageddon.

So if it were name calling, so what.

As if that is not a staple of American politics-especially within the Democratic party.

Why else are Republicans like Ann Coulter and liberals like John Stuart so popular?

I missed the so-called offensive speech entirely.

    I guess I’m the dolt.
