Is there really much INCENTIVE to actually BE a “citizen”? Don’t tell me that the “privilege” of voting between Mitt Romney vs. Barack Obama is worth the cost of:

– buying health insurance
– paying taxes
– registering for the draft (or possibly being drafted to Afghanistan!)

So – what is the upside?

However if I were an illegal immigrant I would be exempt! If I were illegal I would presumably be treated free in any clinic or emergency room and never be prosecuted for illegal entry into the US. So as to have a steady supply of cheap labor that competes directly with legal citizens, who are supposed to pay for all this nonsense. Great work Senators. Merry Christmas!!

I suggest that there will be multiple class action lawsuits against the Obamanista Regime based on a multitude of issues, but specifically including the fact that it is unconstitutional to “force” citizens to purchase something they don’t want. But then again, there are many things the government forces me to pay for like: income TAX, property TAX, Medicare TAX, license plate TAX, and on and on and on.

For those of us who oppose Big Government though, I suppose we must resign ourselves to our fate because according to Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D) Rhode Island, anyone who opposes the Obamanista’s are just “birthers, fanatics, Right Wing militias, and Aryan Support Groups.

As for me, I’m proud to be a PALINISTA.

Having read yesterday’s stories about the cloture vote, I searched the news stories for a bill number, which our leftist press almost invariably omits. (The search engine on the Thomas site is practically useless without a bill number.) I should have just come to BAB.

Another amusing fact unreported in the press is the Senate’s hijacking and gutting of a House bill on an entirely different topic. In view of the bill’s blatant unconstitutionality, this punctilious observance of Article I, Section 7 is laughable.

I’m having trouble finding the part of HR 3950 that imposes fines for non-participation. The PDF copy I downloaded from GPO contains the following language in Section 1312:

“(B) PROHIBITION AGAINST COMPELLED ENROLLMENT.

Nothing in this title shall be construed to compel an individual to enroll in a qualified health plan or to participate in an Exchange.”

That would seem to obviate the whole mess, would it not?
