You are right, he remind of a modern Lawrence of Arabia…he, along with his fellow creature of Petreaus will be ruined by this Afghan adventure

He compared what he did with what the military industrial complex and warmaking does and said that “numbers sanctify” (kill a few and you are depraved but join others and kill by the thousands and you are a hero).

If these Pushtuns or Talibans or Ragheads offer no danger to the United States, then we have NO BUSINESS to kill them either officially or unofficially – either within or not within our own defined “rules”.

A higher authority said “Thou shalt not kill”. It was the Orwellian pigs who added “without cause”.

Seems that young Russian conscripts were so bored and going stir crazy that they would spread shoe polish on toast to catch a buzz from the alcohol solvent used in the polish. Ditto for drinking the radiator fluid of military vehicles. http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-366260.html&amp&

The more things change….

Will the Army be more worried about the poor Afghan victims, or that diversity might become a casualty which would be worse than the actual shooting?

They get young products of America’s public schools (ouch), and teach them to “defend their country” – by invading and occupying places all the way across the world. They are told to “destroy the enemy” – but aren’t told who the enemy actually IS, and Niceness forbid they act “intolerant” while doing the killing (that’s what drones are for). They are trained to kill people and break things, but once they are done, they get tasked with building schools and giving milk to children. No wonder more and more troops are going insane.

This is why the best way to “support our troops” is to bring them home.

He must answer for his actions. However it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to imagine the mind set of our troops. In a pointless war, under impossible conditions, commanded by a clueless
government, transparently political commanders and a public that ranges from apathetic to outright hostile, I wonder that there aren’t more GIs flipping out. Participants in this blog know I have no qualms about taking out Iran’s bomb making apparatus but cetainly we shouldn’t even think about invading. We should get out of Afghanistan and not even think about Syria. As I said, I don’t know what made this GI flip out but whatever the deal was I expect more disasters. We can’t make 6th century, throat cutting fanatics into little Americans no matter how hard we try.
