I have to agree with Larry Auster’s astute observation that “establicons” appear to have simply lurched curiously from defending a liberal (Republican) president to the political death, to a frenzied criticism of a liberal (Democratic) president.
There’s not much of a method in the Republikeynsians’ madness.
The “Republikeynsians” want a humongous “stimulus package” of spending, tax cuts, and rebates of non-existent money but slightly smaller with more tax cuts (e.g. federal borrowing and printing) than the Demokeynsians. If roads are falling apart, it makes sense for users to pay for them (with a gas tax or tolls – as if they were privately owned). But 95% + of this Keynesian stimulus is just Madoff style counterfeiting of phony IOU’s propped up by Chinese paper transactions and future inflation. Meanwhile, Congress seems unable to cut: troops from Italy and Germany (Hitler died 64 years ago!), an F-22 fighter designed to fight the Soviet Union (expired 1989), agribusiness subsidies, foreign aid, freebies for trespassing aliens, or manned space exploration. What they could do for the current “crisis” is to allow those giving cash to emergency charities (soup kitchens) to take 2/3 off their taxes which will help the unemployed more efficiency without increasing bureaucracy. Also, following FDR, they can legalize a certain mind altering substance (pot instead of booze), tax it, and end the billions wasted on “law enforcement” and jails for hundreds of thousands – thus reducing inner city crime and helping to balance the budget.
Isn’t that what the “establishment elites” want? I remember reading a quote from Dr. Carroll Quigley, that “there should be no difference between the two political parties, so that the bums could be thrown out every four years, but the same policies will be followed”. I’m not completely sure that I quoted him accurately, but if I can come up with a copy of his book “Tragedy and Hope” I can confirm it. He was the “official” historian of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the Rockefeller controlled “think tank”.
Keynsianism (or spending non-existent money) is merely the “Tragedy of the Commons” in modern economic/political form. Pay-as-you-go which normal prudent people would do with their own money makes no sense in a “democracy” where we can all get infinite Socialist Security, Medicare, Wars, Stimulus Payments, and a Tax Rebate to boot. Let’s give everyone a 100,000,000,000,000 new Zimbabwe note!
The “elites” and “media” and “universities” are merely reflections of most of the sheeple (people) who are trampling the commons.
