My husband and I also have a son living in Tel Aviv so your comments about Israel were also interesting. We live in Illinois and am curious as to what is going on in the rest of the world.

I have nothing of substance to add to this. It was a pleasure to read. I just returned from traveling in Mexico, Guam, and Alaska. In the past, I have been to Europe and China, and to several little islands in the Pacific. I have lived all over the U.S. I would trade all of it for a chance to visit Israel, just once. As a christian, it holds religious significance. As a student of history, it is a land of tragedy, but also a land with an tenacious and unbreakable human spirit, with wonder, wisdom, and knowledge.
