If enough people write in Ron Paul’s name this election won’t it make far more difficult for the main stream media to ignore him in 2012?

Anyway, I won’t give up on the man till I have to. He seems to be a very rare type of politician.

[I agree with you. I just thought WL raised an interesting point, while not downplaying the aversion most of his constituents have for McCain.–IM]

In fact, they are suing private company Walt Disney for the “right” to take their guns on Disney property. It is. of course, the perogative of a property owner to decide on whether to be armed or disarmed. [See my comment in “On Libertarians Who Dismiss the NRA.“–IM]

Democratic judges are bad on the second amendment and sometimes bad on the 1st and have a perverse view of the 8th as to command states to obey “European consensus” on cruel and unusual punishment. Republican ones are bad on other parts of the first, terrible on the 4th, and rather dubious on the 5th. Or, in summary, Democratic “justices” support a leftist big government and Republican “justices” support a conservative big government. [Let’s equivocate; take the easy way out. It’s all bad so we libertarians can just snort from the sidelines and never take a stand. Well, lose the right to defend yourself, and you’ve lost…let’s see, your life and the slim possibility of a revolution.—IM]

And, ultimately, we should not rely on the Supremes to be a super-legislature. Our representatives should not pass corrupt Nanny State Laws, our President shouldn’t discard hebeas corpus and send troops all over the world. Perhaps one is expecting too much of a Supreme Court to reign in an out of control legislature and executive. [Deal with reality, not with utopia. Judges have assumed demi-god status and we need to fight them, not declare they should not be so mean and unjust, and retire to the corner crying.–IM]

Don’t give up so quickly! There are so many good champions of Second Amendment rights out there, and they are working very hard to keep that right for all Americans.

Try this link, for example: http://armsandthelaw.com/ Attorney David Hardy’s site, which he updates constantly, and provides links to other individuals and groups committed to the right to keep and bear arms.

The trajectory of the country is accelerating downward and new judges aren’t going to stop it.

The whole idea that the Supreme court can even provide “interpretation” of the Bill of Rights is absurd. The only thing to do at this point is to ignore what the courts have to say on these issues as best we can. They can have my guns, bullets first.
