Even Peres Thinks Goldstone's Bonkers

Shimon Peres of the Labor Party is Israel’s president (Bibi is Prime Minister). Now even the leftist Peres has disavowed Richard Goldstone’s report for the U.N., the culmination of the South African justice’s “investigation” into the Israeli offensive in “Gaza from December 27 to January 18.” “The supremely smug Richard Goldstone” accused Israel of committing “actions amounting to war crimes, possibly crimes against humanity.”

To which Peres responded:

“Out of the 26 suggestions that the [Goldstone] Commission made, none deal with how to fight terrorism.” … “The Goldstone Commission Report says that the Palestinians have the right ‘to forceful resistance based on the right of self-determination.’ What is ‘the right to forceful resistance?’ To fire on civilians?”

Some days back I reminded readers of Godstone’s proud pedigree: “He began his career by helping to demote a lesser evil (the National Party) and promote the quintessential evil (Mandela’s African National Congress).

Israel is going through a historic transition. For most of her existence she has relied on the United States to back her against the onslaught of 3rd world aristocrats (AKA the UN) but now a 3rd world aristocrat is president of the United States. I expect to see Israel strengthen its ties with Europe and Russia in the near future. As I understand it, it is not uncommon to see Cyrillic script in many Israeli neighborhoods; over a million Jews from the former Soviet Union have emigrated to Israel since 1991. Russia, unlike the delusional Europeans and Americans, understands the importance of maintaining a common culture among her people; she also shares a common culture (whether she likes it or not) with Israel.
Will Obama drive our most loyal ally into the arms of our most hated foe? I bet that is why they gave him the Nobel peace prize.

It would be interesting to see whether the security council insists on the matter being referred to the international court and whether the US will veto such a resolution (do they still have a veto right?).

I would like to see Goldstone set up shop in Gaza. Maybe a nice downtown property in Gaza City, with a view of the missile factories, would be to his liking. And then, perhaps Hamas can return the favor of his “honesty” by using his house as the launch site for missiles into Israel. Mr. Goldstone, be sure to wave to the Israeli drones.

Peres, who shares a Nobel with Obama, Mandela, Carter, … and Arafat is dishonoring the pedigree of the Nobel Peace-prize by denying that the right to self-determination means “forceful resistance” against “Zionistic settlers”. Has he turned against the “PEACE PROCESS” – like Avigdor Lieberman??

By the way, it looks like G-d might be a Libertarian Zionist! Here is Deuteronomy 15:6

    (Moses addressing Israel)

“For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.”

Good advice for Israel on self-reliance and not become the South Vietnam of the Middle East.

I’ve despised Goldstone ever since he helped establish the ICTY, and later on for his part in the “International Commission on Kosovo.”

I wonder how many more non-war crimes it will take to teach the world that Israel isn’t committing any. But answering that question would be akin to find an answer to why antisemitism exists.

    “how many more non-war crimes”?

Human nature is such that understanding mostly comes at the end of the barrel – meaning you have to feel the pain in order to understand. Americans understood – for a few weeks at least- after 9-11. Europe is beyond hope. There are islands of hope held afloat by few and far between. I am not optimistic.
