You have employers who prefer illegals who can’t cause trouble. You have “advocates” trying to spread welfare. You have drug users demanding a product and willing to pay dearly for it. You have schools/universities demanding more students (even and especially if illegal). You have police who love buying up paramilitary equipment. You have a well paid adverserial criminal justice system wanting lots of work.
Results: Complete HELL South of the pseudo-border and a lot of HECK North of the border. Republican politicians loving cheap coolie labor and drug wars colluding with Democratic politicians loving votes and the welfare/education establishment.
