UPDATE II: Brussels: Obama’s New Mecca (& Cameroon)

Constitution,Federalism,Founding Fathers,IMMIGRATION,Private Property,States' Rights

My new column, “Brussels: Obama’s New Mecca,” is on WND.COM. Here’s an excerpt:

“… Fifty five delegates convened in 1787 at Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, to carve out the contours of this Constitution. Imagine those magnificent men making the case that the people of the colonies they represented ought to sit idle should their homesteads be overrun by trespassers and their families and friends imperiled. Imagine those very men arguing for a future central authority that acted as the sole arbiter in deciding who would breach the perimeters of their respective home patches.
Inconceivable.

If we lived in the old decentralized republic of absolute property rights, land owners in border communities would be policing and defending their properties and the commons. They’d have stopped the ongoing influx in its tracks. Whereas America’s modern-day community leader is suing Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio for being a “bad gringo, a racist, and a bully”; community leaders in early America ? as historian David Hackett Fischer tells it ? often required an immigrant to furnish them with an affidavit from the Old Country, attesting to good character, before being permitted to settle among them.

UPDATE I (Sept. 4): As I mentioned in the column, “America’s modern-day community leader is suing Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio for being a ‘bad gringo, a racist, and a bully.'” The sheriff has responded. Via Doug Powers, blogging for Michele Malkin:

“The Obama administration has filed three lawsuits against Arizona in the last few weeks … one against a college district, one against the state of Arizona and now one against my office. Each lawsuit centers on something to do with alleged racial discrimination.

These actions make it abundantly clear that Arizona, including this Sheriff, IS Washington’s new whipping boy. Now it’s time to take the gloves off. As for today’s lawsuit against my office: These people in Washington met with my attorneys only a few days ago. And in that meeting, Washington got our cooperation; they admitted they already have thousands of pages of the requested documents; and they were given access to interview my staff and get into my jails. They smiled in our faces and then stabbed us in the back with this lawsuit. The Obama administration intended to sue us all along, no matter what we did to try to avert it.

Washington isn’t playing fair and it’s time Americans everywhere wake up and see this administration for what it really is. Calculating, underhanded at times and certainly not looking out for the best interests of the legal citizens residing in this country.”

UPDATE II: We like the bright, plain-spoken Arizona state Sen. Frank Antenori:

Who’s kidding who here? It should be obvious, even to the non-thinking goofs that voted for Obama, that this character is not on our side in any dispute. He is playing to the third world and their hatred of the US in an effort to be an international player on the world stage. The very idea of an American president low rating one of our states, to the UN no less, should be grounds for impeachment. As it is he will probably get another Nobel peace prize and the American left and the American non-thinking public have no shame or outrage about this travesty. The country is decreasing at an increasing rate. In other words going to the dogs.

One more thought on this pitiful wretch who represents us to the world. He is gutless and stupid when trying to deal with the various snakes in the third world and they know it. I suspect that Putin, Chavez, Castro and group laugh up their sleeves at this posturing fool.
    And rightfully so.

There’s a famous quote attributed to Isaac Newton: “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants.”

Perhaps this is also true of our current Messiah. The first Giant, Abraham, cemented the concept of federal supremacy and state impotency. The second Giant, Theodore, popularized the concept of the active executive. The third Giant, Woodrow, had the “vision” of a League of Nations running the planet via the Gospel of Woodrow and Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace. [A title by Gore Vidal:

But quite apt]. What St. Woodrow, in his stroke-laden stubbornness and sanctimoniousness failed to achieve, was fulfilled by his Disciple Franklin. By 1937, the Constitution was pronounced DEAD of neglect and rigor mortis at age 150.

Since then, we have be misruled by a sequence of various midget practitioners of Wilsonian Global-State vision in both Europe and America – whether Bush or Obama – makes microscopic difference except among the politically correct trendsetters that award Nobel Peace Prizes.

A few delusional SUBJECTS of the Global State still nostalgically adhere to the outdated Enlightenment concepts of natural rights, private property, and the like. I guess we should be thankful for not being arrested for impure thoughts!

As much as I despise “Saint Woodrow,” I can agree that the travesty begins with Abraham. Raised in So. Cal., I grew up with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” right out of Disneyland, because I saw his likeness in the Main Street Theater, speaking: “At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined…could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years.”

It sounds wonderful, and makes one want to cheer the great man on. We are never told about the manner in which he violated the Constitution. It is very difficult to crash idols, when they are presented in this way.

I’m glad to see Frank Antenori on TV discussing this issue. He makes a lot of sense. He ran in the Republican primary for the Congressional seat formerly held by Jim Kolbe of Tucson (and which is now occupied by Gabrielle Giffords)but didn’t do too well. I hope he runs again, and soon, for a national position.

What a croc! One thing the constitution, as I read it, has assigned to the federal government is defense of the nation. Isn’t protecting the border part of defending the country? Maybe it’s a good thing that my parents didn’t waste their money on an Ivy League education for their only son!

IN Obama’s New Mecca you mention 55 delegates in 1787.
According to the new NC history books, nothing existed in America until 1877.
Everything before that was hype, I guess.

I am in American Minority Studies (yeah, I know) and we are subjected to this pro-illegal immigrant garbage type of thinking on a regular basis. There is so much stupidity and lack of reason in this line of belief that I am wondering now if left-liberal thinking is a mental disorder; the logic and reason, which makes us different from animals, is lacking with people who are prone to histrionics and emotion.

Put simply; if someone from another culture enters your land, illegaly, with a different language, customs, and disregards the laws of your country, they are barbarians.

What is so difficult to see about this …? I don’t understand.
