The most preposterous of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s accusers was Julie Swetnick, who is or was a career federal-government employee and a “decorated” one at that.

What does this tell Americans about the quality of the civil servants in their government?

You might counter that the Swetnick case is an isolated incident, but the following is axiomatic; we all know this to be true:

The American government is riddled with set-asides, preferential hiring practices and affirmative action, which compromise an already compromised institution (The State).

NYP:

Swetnick  holds “active clearances” for her work with the US Department of Treasury, US Mint and Internal Revenue Service.

She said she also previously had security clearances with the US Department of State, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection.

An active security clearance means Swetnick has been subjected to a stringent background investigation that deemed her qualified to have access to “classified national security information … so long as the person has a need to know the information,” according to the State Department website.

More shameful is that The Economist (a real news organization) was uncritical about Swetnick’s credentials. If they were minted by the US government, well then, her credentials must be stand for something:

… the latest of [the judge’s accusers] has multiple security clearances and signed an affidavit, under penalty of perjury, that she was gang raped at a party that Mr Kavanaugh attended.

Finally, someone does journalism. Courtesy of Megyn Kelly comes information that Julie Swetnick, “who in a sworn declaration last week said Brett Kavanugh [sic] had attended parties in high school where gang rapes were common, had credibility issues.”

She faced her own accusations of misconduct at a Portland company years ago. That company claims she told them she graduated from Johns Hopkins but they learned the school had no record of her, she also falsely described her work experience,” Kelly said during a panel discussion on “Megyn Kelly Today.”

She engaged in unwelcome, sexually offensive misconduct herself. They said she made false and retaliatory allegations against her co-workers that they had been inappropriate with her. They said she took medical leave and simultaneously claimed unemployment benefits. At the same time in D.C., there was a restraining order filed against her by an ex-boyfriend,” the former Fox News host also stated.

UPDATES (9/26): Christine Blasey Ford’s Contempt For Kavanaugh’s 6th Amendment Confrontation Rights

A family member of Christine Blasey Ford told a friendly network that Ford was a serious person, a scientist, no less.

For one thing, Ford is a psychologist. As such, she can only be a social scientist, not a scientist.

For another, if Ford’s “science” is anything like her callous attitude toward the rights of the accused in our adversarial understanding of the law—then she is not  a”scientist,” and most definitely no “serious person.” She might even be legitimately considered a bit of a menace.

One item on Blasey Ford’s long list of demands to the US Senate Judiciary Committee, before she relents and goes away, is that “Brett Kavanaugh should be questioned first, before he has the opportunity to hear Ford’s testimony.”

Kavanaugh goes first and is denied the opportunity to hear the accusations against him, confront his accuser, and fashion a response to her accusations.

Make no mistake, Blasey Ford is submitting Kavanaugh to a public lynching, a trial by any other name, except that this trail is without protections such as the presumption of innocence.

And certainly without the 6th amendment constitutional protections:

The 6th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution sets out many rights for defendants during a criminal prosecution, including the right of the accused to confront their accusers. The relevant text of the Confrontation Clause of the 6th Amendment reads as follows: In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to be confronted with the witnesses against him.

Impotent Republicans are incapable of standing up for anything. GOP Chairman Chuck Grassley JUST caved again to Blasey Ford, giving her Highness still more time to decide on yet MORE conditions for her appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
