UPDATE II (1/15): Spooks Are NOT Us; They’re Government

Donald Trump, Government, Homeland Security, Intelligence, Military, The State

Julian Assange is one of us; working for the good of the people. Conversely, the “intelligence community” is an arm of The State, working to keep its enormous sphere of influence in tact (to say nothing of the perks and pensions of its members, going in perpetuity). There are good people among them, like Philip Haney. But they are often fired if they don’t get with the program.

UPDATE I (1/15): The “intelligence community” is trying to cow President-elect Donald Trump into submission. Keep fighting, Mr. Trump. “Trump slams outgoing CIA director Brennan after criticism over Russia threat.”

UPDATE II: What’s Fox News’ Bret Baier up to?

Far more reliable is Glenn Greenwald’s “The Deep State Goes to War With President-Elect, Using Unverified Claims, as Democrats Cheer.” Trump has taken on every aspect of a corrupt political system. It’s time for the Deep State, affectionately and deceptively called the Intelligence Community.

What About Donald Trump’s Security Detail? Has IT Been Infiltrated?

The shooter who assassinated the Russian envoy to Turkey, Andrey G. Karlov, is “described by Turkish officials as a 22-year-old off-duty police officer.”

Off duty or on duty, does the security detail of President-elect Donald Trump include Muslims who may be similarly “awakened”? These budding Jihadis are being flooded with images of Syrians dying in a civil war between the American-backed ISIS rebels, as against Bashar Assad and Vladimir Putin. Eric Margolis:

[T]he US has long aided ISIS and still sees it as a potent weapon against the Assad government. Why else would it take the US and its Arab and Kurdish foot soldiers so long to move against ISIS strongholds at Raqqa and Mosul– which are, as this writer knows, only a taxi-ride away? ISIS is a rag-tag bunch of 20-something amateur Rambos, not the Wehrmacht.
One likely answer is that imperial Washington is totally confused over whom to support and how to do it. The bewildering fracas between Sunnis, Shia, Kurds, Arabs, Yazidis, assorted Christians, ISIS wildmen, egged on the US, Israel, Turkey, Russia, France, Britain, Lebanon, Jordan, the oil Arabs is just too much for Washington’s ill-educated, or often downright dim policy makers. …

Backing ISIS.

Trump’s Decision To Eliminate Redundancy In Daily Intelligence Briefings Causing Uproar

Donald Trump, Economy, Homeland Security, Intelligence

Said President-elect Donald Trump to FoxNews’ Chris Wallace: “I don’t need to be told the same thing every day, every morning, same words. Sir, nothing has changed. Let’s go over it again. I don’t need that. … If something should change from this point, immediately call me. I’m available on one minute’s notice”

Economizing always creates outrage among politicians and their hanger-on industries and sycophants. They’re used to creating redundancies and duplication. It’s lucrative. In President-elect Donald Trump they have a different animal. In President-elect Donald Trump, they have someone who’s looking to eliminate redundancies; who’s aware of the cost of a scare resource like time.

Dirty Cop James Comey Muddies The Water … Again

I have no idea why media are emphasizing that a review 650,000 new emails in eight days, promised by FBI chief James Comey, was an impossible feat. Or that the emails found on Anthony Weiner’s PC were mere duplicates.

FBI chief James Comey told leaders in Congress hours earlier that a review of 650,000 emails discovered on a laptop belonging to Anthony Weiner had reinforced his July 5 decision to let her off the hook.

AND:

The new emails — on the computer of Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Mrs. Clinton’s close aide Huma Abedin — contain nothing except personal messages and duplicates of emails that had already been reviewed, investigators found.

Doesn’t Clinton’s criminality—and the whole point of the investigation—lie in the fact that Hillary Clinton and her aides spread work-related correspondence all over the show, including to pervert Weiner’s computer?

That’s The Scandal.

Furthermore, while I’m no conspiracy theorist, Attorney General Loretta Lynch and President Barack Obama are said to have maintained confidence in Comey and his ability to run the FBI. Both Obama and Lynch were too cool for comfort about the Comey bombshell of October 28.
