France Overdue For Life-Saving Tourism Slump

Europe, Homeland Security, Islam, Terrorism

“France … has been hit hardest among European countries by Islamic State-inspired terrorism,” we are told by a Bloomberg correspondent.

That’s good.

French tourism is overdue for a slump, given the consistent treachery of the French government and its gendarmes. While the French Riviera, certainly Nice, is not as deserted as it should be; “[I]nternational flight bookings to Nice dropped 57 percent compared with the previous year from the date of the attack to July 23, while planned arrivals this month and in September were down by about a fifth for France as a whole.”

Here are a few revelations about the Bastille Day massacre in Nice not shared in my column, “The Expert Idiocracy Is More Dangerous Than Islam. Almost”:

After Nice there was but one expert who did not obfuscate, and was aware of his limited, crucial mandate as a security expert. Late at night, on CNN, Israeli security expert Aaron Cohen was clear and concise about what the American and English media were incapable of discerning, because they always absolve the state of responsibility for its only duty: Protect the citizenry.

Nice is already a breeding ground for extremism. Why not? Muslims have the run of Europe, so why not settle in the French Riviera? French police know Nice is how teaming with terrorists. Therefore they had Cohen’s contempt for erecting easily breached police checkpoints, from where the gendarmes casually waved the enormous truck by when its swarthy driver, Tunisian-born Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, told police he was delivering ice cream for the petits.

According to the UK Mirror, police allowed Nice killer Mohamed “to stay on the busy road for almost nine hours before the attack and failed to check his vehicle.” The pathetic, criminally culpable constabulary hadn’t even laid down spike strips or tire shredders. Anyone who watched the Frenchmen on scooters or foot, try to flag down the truck once it commenced its 2 mile mayhem, had to snort with contempt.

Tourism slump is sure to help reduce casualties from death by Muslim (and gendarme).

Let’s Have Leniency For Ordinary Americans Imprisoned By The Security State

Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Homeland Security

The good news is that Hillary Clinton is finished as a presidential candidate (unless I’ve failed to factor in the voting power of the resentful minorities that flank her and Barack Obama on their campaign excursions). The more like a banana republic the American political and justice systems show themselves to be—the greater Donald Trump’s chances of becoming president.

Again and again has FBI Director James Comey, “an Obama appointee who served in the Bush DOJ” (and who used to get his best daily boosting from Sean Hannity), revealed himself as a weasel. As recent events have demonstrated, Comey has an abysmal record of stopping American Jihadists, but has vigorously prosecuted innocents (in natural law) such as Martha Stewart.

“Washington Has Been Obsessed With Punishing Secrecy Violations — until Hillary Clinton,” writes Glenn Greenwald, in this characteristically excellent analysis:

Secrecy is a virtual religion in Washington. Those who violate its dogma have been punished in the harshest and most excessive manner – at least when they possess little political power or influence. As has been widely noted, the Obama administration has prosecuted more leakers under the 1917 Espionage Act than all prior administrations combined. Secrecy in DC is so revered that even the most banal documents are reflexively marked classified, making their disclosure or mishandling a felony. As former CIA and NSA Director Michael Hayden said back in 2000, “Everything’s secret. I mean, I got an email saying ‘Merry Christmas.’ It carried a top secret NSA classification marking.”

People who leak to media outlets for the selfless purpose of informing the public – Daniel Ellsberg, Tom Drake, Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden – face decades in prison. Those who leak for more ignoble and self-serving ends – such as enabling hagiography (Leon Panetta, David Petreaus) or ingratiating oneself to one’s mistress (Petraeus) – face career destruction, though they are usually spared if they are sufficiently Important-in-DC. For low-level, powerless Nobodies-in-DC, even the mere mishandling of classified information – without any intent to leak but merely to, say, work from home – has resulted in criminal prosecution, career destruction and the permanent loss of security clearance.

This extreme, unforgiving, unreasonable, excessive posture toward classified information came to an instant halt in Washington today – just in time to save Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations. FBI Director James Comey, an Obama appointee who served in the Bush DOJ, held a press conference earlier this afternoon in which he condemned Clinton on the ground that she and her colleagues were “extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information,” including Top Secret material.

Comey also detailed that her key public statements defending her conduct – i.e., she never sent classified information over her personal email account and that she had turned over all “work-related” emails to the State Department – were utterly false; insisted “that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position . . . should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation”; and argued that she endangered national security because of the possibility “that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.” Comey also noted that others who have done what Clinton did “are often subject to security or administrative sanctions” – such as demotion, career harm, or loss of security clearance.

Despite all of these highly incriminating findings, Comey explained, the FBI is recommending to the Justice Department that Clinton not be charged with any crime. “Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information,” he said, “our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.” To justify this claim, Comey cited “the context of a person’s actions” and her “intent.” In other words, there is evidence that she did exactly what the criminal law prohibits, but it was more negligent and careless than malicious and deliberate. …

I Told You The FBI Is Rotten & Responsible For Terror Unleashed

Government, GUNS, Homeland Security, Islam, Political Correctness, Private Property, Terrorism

It now transpires that the “FBI [had] instructed local authorities not to release any information to the public regarding the Orlando shooting and the redacted recordings of the incoming, desperate, unrequited 911 calls. Orlando Sentinel:

The FBI has asked law enforcement agencies who responded to Pulse nightclub to withhold records from the public, according to officials.
A June 20 letter from the FBI, attached to the City or Orlando’s lawsuit over withholding 911 calls and other records from 25 media outlets including the Orlando Sentinel, was also sent to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office with instructions pertaining to how they should respond to records requests.
The letter requests that agencies deny inquiries and directs departments to “immediately notify the FBI of any requests your agency received” so “the FBI can seek to prevent disclosure through appropriate channels, as necessary.”

The tone of last week’s column, “The Gun-Safety ‘Loophole’ is Actually a Government Loophole,” aka “Let The Gun Market Close Government Loopholes,” was exactly right. An excerpt:

It’s award time at the Department of Homeland Security. So fleeting has been the focus on the systemic, intractable failures of the DHS apparatus—that failed functionaries feel sufficiently at ease to move on to the business of backslapping and promotion.

But first, the latest outrage to emerge from Barack Hussein Obama’s Islamophilic Federal Bureau of Investigation is this: It transpires a friend of Orlando mass murderer Omar Saddiqui Mateen had done his duty and reported Mateen to the FBI.

Mohammed A. Malik had also worshiped at the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce and had become alarmed when Mateen openly professed to an infatuation with the videos of Yemeni Jihadi Anwar al-Awlaki. Not only did the FBI discount Malik’s report, but when Malik softened his assessment of the danger his friend posed to others—a natural human tendency—the FBI acted post haste on that assessment. In mitigation of the FBI’s decision to back-off Mateen, Director James Comey even cited Malik’s good reference.

Better that FBI agents watch reruns of CBS’s Criminal Minds, than follow FBI Standard Operating Procedure, dictated by the Obama administration. Taxpayers would be safer.

The mad farrago got more maddening when Attorney General Loretta Lynch (confirmed by Republican lickspittles) stepped up to assure the public that federal authorities were scouring their contacts with Mateen, and those around him, to ferret out whether they’d missed anything. When grilled about Mateen’s wife, a key figure in the investigation and a possible co-conspirator, Lynch replied that Noor Salman was … missing.

Missing, too, from the doctored transcripts of Mateen’s June 12, 911 call, released by the FBI and the Department of Justice, were the words “Allah,” “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi” and “Islamic State,” to which Mateen alluded during the call.

Still worse: Since the focus is no longer on the “investigation” into two other tender, tormented souls, the Farooks, it’s time to bestow special commendation on those who botched, even thwarted, the probe into the butchers of San Bernardino.

Up for an award for her failings is Irene Martin. Reports the British Daily Mail: “An immigration official who stopped Homeland Security agents from arresting the alleged gun supplier of the San Bernardino terrorists the day after the attack, and then lied about it to department investigators, is to receive an award for her work.”

The agency that rewarded Martin had booted true hero Philip Haney. The soft-spoken, demure, forcibly retired employee of DHS has divulged that the Administration “nixed the probe into the Southern California jihadists,” and eliminated a program he, Haney, developed. That database would’ve helped connect certain networks, Tablighi Jamaat and the larger Deobandi movement, to domestic terrorism rising. Haney’s files were expunged and he subjected to an internal investigation for doing his duty to protect Americans.

Political correctness run amok is how pundits on Fox News have euphemized the FBI’s SOP under BHO.

Treason seems more like it.

Consider: You hire a private company to protect you, only to discover that, as part of the scheme to “protect” you, your guards undergo sensitivity training that desensitizes them to potential evildoers, thus giving the latter easy access to you and yours. Given that this strategy, if it can be so called, would undermine your life, and considering this company would be in violation of its contractual obligation to defend you—you’d first fire the firm. Next, if the negligence came at a cost; you’d sue.

You’d put this “business” and its “business plan” out of business. …

Islamic Infiltration: How Deep, How Wide?

Government, Homeland Security, Islam, Political Correctness, Terrorism

The media now look to affiliates of the Council on American-Islamic Relations for “expertise” on keeping Americans safe. At least one CAIR affiliate is among law-enforcement authorities solicited by The Wall Street Journal for their security know-how. Is this an artifact or the norm?

CAIRE is the media-savvy mouthpiece of militant (aka authentic) Islam in America. The ever-accreting Dhimma of America, trained to talk taqiyya about Islam, will fault me for finding Nezar Hamze’s employment as a US sheriff irreconcilable with the safety of the hapless American people. A director at the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Florida doubles up as a Florida sheriff is what investigative journalist Paul Sperry would dub infiltration. His book by that title needs updating.

Nezar Hamze dispensed advice to the WSJ on how to safeguard … mosques. Scarier still is that Hamze, a regional operations director for the Islamic advocacy group CAIR, doubles up as a deputy sheriff to the Floridians of Broward County. (Hamze advises Mosque goers to “walk in groups.” One wonders what’s his advice to club-goers falling under a hail of bullets from his coreligionists. Smear the blood of your fallen friends over yourself and play dead? )

Meanwhile, mosques around the country, already on high alert for retaliation since the San Bernardino, Calif., terror attack, are strengthening security as the community is in the midst of the Ramadan holiday.
Nezar Hamze, regional operations director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Florida, sent an “action alert” to mosques in the state Sunday advising precautions including keeping the lights on, reaching out to law enforcement and stationing a door greeter who can call 911 if needed.
“No walking alone, walk in groups,” his alert memo says.
Mr. Hamze, who is also a deputy sheriff in Broward County, Fla., said he has been roaming the state teaching security at mosques since last September.
He said the Muslim community is routinely targeted by “vigilantes” or violent extremists after international or domestic terror attacks.
