Will ‘Racial Bean Counter’ Be The First Black Attorney General?

You had better hope not.

About the “racial bean counter” that may inherit the earth if Obama does, VDARE.COM’s Matthew Richer writes the following:

“What was most strikingly unique about Assistant Attorney General Deval Patrick’s leadership was the degree to which he used the power of his office to intimidate American citizens into conforming with his vision of civil rights. Patrick knew well that most cities, towns and small businesses cannot afford to defend themselves against a Justice Department lawsuit. All it often took was for Patrick to initiate a Justice Department “probe” of some civil organization, and then he could bend it to his vision of justice.

During his confirmation hearings, of course, Deval Patrick claimed that he did not believe in racial quotas. But once confirmed, Patrick arrogantly began to impose racial preferences in the guise of law enforcement. He was especially opposed to cognitive examinations for prospective police officers and firemen alleging that they result in an unjustly high failure rate for black applicants. Patrick then tried to force municipalities to adopt a Justice…”

The Hassle of Hasselbeck

In an uncontaminated culture, Elizabeth Hasselbeck would be seen and not heard. Alas, this lefty is the conservative movement’s brain trust on a show called “The View.” To be fair to the woman, Hasselbeck is no stupider than her co-hosts. Whoopi Goldberg, from the few snippets I’ve endured, is the best of a bad bunch.

Hasselbeck has contributed the sob and the wide-eyed stare to Socratic debate; when words fail, she weeps, splutters and uses extravagant gestures. I told you she’s brilliant.

Following Jesse Jackson’s calling Obama by the “N” word (yawn), a debate has ensued as to whether it’s ever appropriate to use the word (yawn). Hasselbeck took sanctimony to a new level and—wait a sec, while I wipe the tears—began bawling on “The View”:

“How are we supposed to move forward if we keep using words that bring back that pain?”

CAN’T WE JUST GET ALONG? (Note how crying–sentimentality–is confused with authentic compassion and imbued with virtue.)

I’ve had my fill of so-called “black pain,” which I hold between the tongs of quotation marks for a reason. But this lily-white woman weeping in empathy is even more nauseating than suffering the sight of Sean Hannity and Al Sharpton at a love-in on Fox News. (Yet more thoroughbred conservatism on show.)

In any event, I am fully on the side of Whoopi and other blacks who’ve briefed the bleeding hearts wanting to (just about) ban the word as to the proper etiquette of its use. Blacks use it among themselves and in what Obama termed the art of hip hop. Whites should probably steer clear.

As a Jew, I have been known to say the odd outlandish thing, such as, “Around 11:00PM I am seized by an Auschwitz hunger.” It’s outré (bad, Ilana). Still, I think it would be a tad ruder if a non-Jew said that. Jewish-related comments, when uttered by a gentile, could be experienced as impolite if not hurtful.

What’s the big deal? It’s common sense.

However, by the same token, if whites can recognize and respect that blacks have different cultural references, blacks should accord whites the same courtesy (that’ll be the day). That’s the real issue here.

It’s all about etiquette, courtesy and reciprocity.

The Jackson Jibe

Interesting to note that some blacks—Jesse Jackson, for one—find Obama snooty. I tend to agree with him here. When Obama preaches about AWOL black fathers, which is what angered the irascible Jackson, it doesn’t quite come off as when Bill Cosby did the same.

For one, Cosby’s brutally honest assessment of the black family was trail blazing at the time. He was one of the first influential, witty black Americans to pick up on the issue. Obama just sounds like a dripping tap.

Speaking of doing a doctor Phil, the Democratic and Republican strategists to whose oracular wisdom and originality we’re subjected day-in-and-day out, have psychoanalyzed the Jackson quip. Apparently Jesse is jealous of Obama, who represents a change of the guard in race relations (really?). That’s weak. Substituting psychoanalysis for analysis is pretty weak.

Another thought crossed my mind: Jackson wanted Obama’s manhood, metaphorically. Or so the strategists tell us. I’m not sure there’s much manhood there. Obama will be the first metrosexual president. He’s not quite the metrosexual; he’s just not very manly.

Michelle Obama, on the other hand, has testosterone to spare. Jesse had better not try “cutting of her n-ts,” which is what he envisaged doing to Obama for “talking down to black.”

In any event, why is Jackson’s menacing utterance causing such a ripple? I guess it’s news to our “strategists” that Jackson is a bit of dreck.

How Black South Africans ‘Deal’ With Illegal Immigrants

Blacks, who now rule the South African roost, “deal” with illegal immigrants and foreigners, shall we say differently to the way Americans do. And white South Africans did. Under minority rule this cruelty did not occur. Neither did illegal immigrants dare brave the ferocious Afrikaner border guards and their assistants: four-legged predators. Yep, Africa moves in mysterious ways. (But the Minute Men are maligned much more than these killers of newcomers!!)

I’ve ventured into the township of Alexandra, in which some of the killings are now underway. It’s about 3 kilometers from the once-magnificent, very wealthy suburbs of Sandton and Morningside, where my father had a synagogue. Shopping in Sandton City used to be out of this world.

Notice how Goodly Helen, like most members of the liberal media, resorts to the passive voice to catalogue the rioters’ crimes: Helen says the “unrest has killed” all those illegals; no, Helen, the killers killed them.

Over to Helen Long of Reuters:

“May 19 – A wave of xenophobic attacks escalated in South Africa’s seething townships, with mobs beating and murdering foreigners.

The unrest has killed more than 20 people since it began last week and increased political instability at a time South Africa is struggling with dire power shortages, rising inflation and growing disaffection among the poor over President Thabo Mbeki’s pro-business policies. Police fired rubber bullets at rioters in communities around Johannesburg and in the central business district, where scores of foreigners live. High levels of poverty, crime and unemployment have fuelled resentment toward foreigners. Since the end of apartheid South Africa has become a magnet for millions of African immigrants escaping poverty and persecution.”
