Excerpts From Palin’s Speech at the Republican National Convention

The following are excerpts provided by the Republican National Committee of Gov. Sarah Palin’s speech as prepared for delivery at the Republican National Convention (via the New York Times):

“I had the privilege of living most of my life in a small town. I was just your average hockey mom, and signed up for the PTA because I wanted to make my kids’ public education better. When I ran for city council, I didn’t need focus groups and voter profiles because I knew those voters, and knew their families, too. Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities.”

“I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone. But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion – I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country.”

“Our opponents say, again and again, that drilling will not solve all of America’s energy problems – as if we all didn’t know that already. But the fact that drilling won’t solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all. Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we’re going to lay more pipelines…build more nuclear plants…create jobs with clean coal…and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal, and other alternative sources. We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers.”

“Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.”

And here are excerpt from Mitt Romney’s speech. Listen to how Court Courtesan Peggy Noonan, a consummate Washington insider, trashes Palin HERE.

Although I will not vote for John McCain under any circumstances, I feel he made a political choice, that will only help his candidacy.

It is amazing that the media is in such a frenzy over Sarah Palin. She may be an odd pick for McCain, but one thing I have noticed is that she has a savvy that many politician and political wannabes lack.

Palin’s pick is classic because it simultaneously wrecks both Obama and Clinton at the same time. As much as I dislike McCain, at least he’s ensured we won’t be seeing the other two as president ever.

I’d like Sarah more if she would harpoon that senile Warmonger running mate of hers. That obscene convention obsessed on John McCain’s torture about 500 times, stressed all the wars he will get us involved in and achieve “victory” in, and denounced Obama for not wanting to achieve the same hegemonic “victory” for the New World Odor. Sarah is certainly better than Biden on guns. Interesting videos to watch: Joe Biden on guns – sadly, NOT a satire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkavwuWE5eQ
On the other hand, Sarah knows how to handle her baby:

and, finally, a funny satire about the GOP ticket:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-QevraCQUc. Congressional ratings from GUN OWNERS of AMERICA: Ron Paul: A+,Barack Obama: F, Joe Biden: F,John McCain: F-. BONUS QUESTION: What are the odds that son TRACK comes back from overseas with PTSD and takes out McCain??
P.S. I think all the Chickenhawk neocons should personally go to Georgia forming the Joe Lieberman Brigade just like the communist Abe Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War: Kristol, Limbaugh, Cheney, Guiliani, Hannity, Jeana …

She certainly dispatches Obama/Biden with that first excerpt. I suppose that’s not saying too much: it usually takes a mere wave of the hand to dispel a cloud of vapor.

After doing a meager bit of research on Mrs. Palin I’m starting to suspect that she may have principles. Talking about individual liberty will get you nowhere in Washington. I can’t imagine how the GOP feels about political competition.
