REPUBLICANS WANT A GET-OUT-OF-JAIL CARD FROM TRUMP. I analyze this aspect of the Trump candidacy in my book, The Trump Revolution: The Donald’s Creative Destruction Deconstructed.
The Republican establishment is as culpable as the Democrats in the state of this disunion. Their guilt as co-conspirators, Republicans must conceal from gullible voters. So the Republicans are vested in leveraging their power against Donald Trump with the goal of, first, deflecting from their crimes, and, second, focusing the attack dog, The Donald, on Hillary Clinton so that they, regimist Republicans, may retain their reputations and political perches.
To this end, Republicans and their supporters in media are making energetic use of the idiom of unity.
The people are being fooled. And Donald Trump is giving Republican establishmentarians their get-out-of-jail card.
Trump is caving on all but war with Russia. Small mercies.
Sadly, #Trump caves, endorses the worst of the worst, #McCain, who likely abandoned #POW & Men #MIA in #Vietnam. https://t.co/MhS1CpeSgq

He endorses the Bad Guys & Girls, but at least #Trump sticks to his one resolution, get on with #Russia. Good. https://t.co/MhS1CpeSgq
