Fun in Kazakhstan

America, Britain, Bush, Film, Pop-Culture

Sasha Baron Cohen, alias Ali G, is a British comedian and the creator of Borat, “a bumbling Kazakh TV presenter.” Borat’s exploits in the US are something to behold. Simply brilliant comedy, as in the time he asked a dating agency for a woman with plowing experience. Or when he sang his country’s anthem at an American sports match. The mournful wail went on for at least 20 minutes. His American spectators, bless them, were very patient. And what about “throw the Jew down the well“? That’s the infectious sing-along Borat began in a Texas bar. A classic.

By having fun at Kazakhstan’ expense, Borat (who has quite the bottom, if I say so myself) has created an international incident. Read how George Bush might get involved.

‘Remembering the World Trade Center’

Islam, Terrorism, The West

Every year since September 11, 2001, New Yorker Chris Matthew Sciabarra (who was gracious enough to endorse my book) has written a tribute to the World Trade Center. In 2003 he penned this:

“We all knew that these buildings had come to symbolize so much of what made New York great. That’s one of the reasons they were targeted. It’s the kind of thing that led the novelist and philosopher Ayn Rand to write in The Fountainhead, fifty years earlier, that New York’s skyline was ‘the will of man made visible. She wrote'”:

Is it beauty and genius people want to see? Do they seek a sense of the sublime? Let them come to New York, stand on the shore of the Hudson, look and kneel. When I see this city from my window—no, I don’t feel how small I am—but I feel that if a war came to threaten this, I would like to throw myself into space, over the city, and protect these buildings with my body.

Letter of the Week: The Stupid Vs. The Evil Party
By Carlos

The Dems could have stopped Jorge’s Mesopotamian misadventure in its tracks if they were anything other than a party of corrupt leftist ideologues. They could have at least forced an open debate on the reasons for spending the precious lives of our soldiers there, and asked the hard questions about how such an invasion defends the United States.
Instead, they went along with the Messiah from West Texas’ crazy mission to spread the gospel of democracy in the Ummah. Of course, at the same time, Muslims continue to enter the Dar-al-Harb unimpeded.
Larry Auster gives a run-down here about our wonderful open borders with the Ummah policies. The number here is for legal immigrants only, from Muslim countries. Muslims from Europe, Canada, and elsewhere aren’t counted, nor are those walking across our unprotected borders illegally.
Paul Gottfried’s final paragraph in a recent article over at VDARE sums it up quite nicely: “As my late friend Sam Francis never tired of pointing out, the stupid party may have become an even greater obstacle to Western survival than the evil party it formally opposes.” It’s way past high time for a new party, or at least some folks who are willing to face reality.
