THIS WEEK ON HARD TRUTH: Are we living in the last days of Rome? What role has Christianity played in bringing this about? Hard Truth confronts the inarguable fact that Western Civilization is warping out of recognition. Ilana and David ask why. Edward Gibbon blamed Christianity for Rome’s demise. I’m inclined to agree. David disagrees. That’s what makes it fun.

I am inclined to think both Christianity and the allowing of barbarians to join the Roman government, especially its military are to blame. Barbarians are known for lack of discipline which gradually infected the strong Roman legions but not enough to to destroy them. Also lack of protecting the borders caused much mayhem in the empire. However, Christianity was the real nail in the coffin, destroying the very foundations of Roman and Greecian philosophy, history and integrity. Christianity closed down, destroyed all antique art, science, architecture, resulting in the Dark Ages. Julian attempted a reversal but it was too little too late as Christianity dominated the government and oppressed Paganism. Christianity supports all manner of destruction of what made the West great.
Thank you: Gibbon does describe the Barbarian soldier effect on the Roman legions. That rest makes sense, too.
