UPDATED: Chrissie Hynde On Skanks (Serena Williams Agrees)

Crime, Feminism, Gender, Music

Tough, quite talented and smart: Pretenders lead singer Chrissie Hynde also says what needs to be said just to keep the truth alive in the public square: Women who dress like skanks and then sue or cry rape when men come on to them are not blameless.

Where I disagree with Hynde is when she asserts that the rape of a woman who dresses and behaves like a hooker is somehow deserved. No! It’s understandable, not deserved.

Before being abducted, raped and killed by Jesse Matthew, Hannah Graham drew his attention by wondering about with midriff so bare that her crotch is almost visible. In surveillance footage she can be seen swaying as though tipsy.

Skank attire and conduct is sanctioned these days by parents of small girls. What’s in their heads, one wonders.

As for Hynde’s claim “that pop stars who call themselves feminists but use their sex appeal to sell records were effectively just ‘prostitutes'”: More crucially, most are nothing without their looks. They aren’t musicians. Auto-Tune technology is what makes a cast of vain ventriloquists like Katy Perry and other screamers what they are.

UPDATE: Another strong, sensible woman, tennis star Serena Williams, agrees. “If you’re a 16-year-old and you’re drunk like that, your parents should teach you—don’t take drinks from other people,” she said about the case of the intoxicated teen who cried rape in Steubenville, Ohio.

‘She’s 16, why was she that drunk where she doesn’t remember? It could have been much worse. She’s lucky. Obviously I don’t know, maybe she wasn’t a virgin, but she shouldn’t have put herself in that position, unless they slipped her something, then that’s different.’

‘Gun Violence’? No! Goon Violence

Crime, GUNS, Reason

Thinking logically about crime is far likelier to lead to solutions than irrational, mythical thinking. This morning, CNN’s Poppy Harlow—below an amusing thought I once entertained about her—inveighed against the “gun violence” that “took” the life of poor Deputy Darren Goforth, today.

“Gun Violence”? No! Goon violence. A very dark man—safe to say black, from the images—has been taken into custody for the execution-style murder of the deputy, at “a suburban Houston gas station.”

Police have described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts. Authorities did not say what race they believe him to be. …

It was not an inanimate object that murdered this innocent individual, but a malevolent man with murder in his heart and a weapon in his hand. Grasping that distinction is more truthful and hence more productive than blaming an inanimate object.

Poppy bonus:

If only a woman with the wicked wit of a Margot Asquith—countess of Oxford, author and socialite (1864- 1945)—were around to put slobbering Poppy Harlow in her proper place.

When asked by American actress Jean Harlow how she pronounces her first name, Mrs. Asquith quickly retorted: “The ‘t’ is silent, as in Harlow.”

To Make Cops Love Communities They Police, Communities Ought To Be Lovely.

Crime, Criminal Injustice, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Media, Race, Racism

“To make us love our country, our country ought to be lovely.”—Edmund Burke, Reflections on the Revolution in France

A variation on Burke’s theme is what I get from the words of former Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson: To make cops love the communities they police, the communities they police ought to be lovely. And indeed, Wilson seems to have found aspects of the rough community he policed lovely. But that’s not enough for his inquisitors.

CNN transcripts:

JOHN BERMAN: New this morning, former Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson breaks his silence in a revealing new interview. The 29-year- old who shot and killed unarmed teenager, Michael Brown, tells “The New Yorker” he wanted to get back on the streets of Ferguson but was told he would be a liability. He says he can’t get another police job anywhere despite being cleared of any wrongdoing in Brown’s death.

KATE BOLDUAN: He also tells “The New Yorker” that he ended up working in Ferguson because policing black neighborhoods would be a good way to advance his career. He says this as well, “If you go there and do three to five years, get your experience, you can kind of write your own ticket.” And Wilson says he enjoyed his time on the force. He also is saying this, “I didn’t want to work in a white area. I like the black community. I had fun there. There’s people who will just crack you up.”

CNN’s Boris Sanchez is joining us, and Boris is taking a look at much more of this.

It’s a long and revealing interview.

BORIS SANCHEZ, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Certainly. He says quite a bit in there. One of the things you find out is he says he doesn’t think about Michael Brown. He hasn’t even read the Department of Justice report about the systemic racism in Ferguson. It’s really interesting because he kind of — the piece is meant to humanize him but, in a lot of ways, some of what he says brings up questions about his perspectives and his relations with the African-American community. At one point, he asks a fellow officer who helped train him for help in relating to some of the people in the community because he said he felt culture shock.

We’ll take a look at what he said. He asked Mike McCarthy, “Mike, I don’t know what I’m doing. This is a culture shock. Would you help me because you obviously have that connection, and you can relate to them? You may be white, but they respect you, so why can they respect you and not me?”

[11:15:26] Another thing Wilson says, as you mentioned, Kate, that he enjoyed policing in the African-American community because people there cracked him up. So he tries to paint this picture that he’s not a racist. At the same time, he goes on to say other things that many, including Michael Brown’s family, say kind of show that he has some prejudice. We’ll go to the other full screen now. He’s describing a blind mom in Ferguson apparently whose kids were running amok. He says they were causing trouble in the neighborhood. He said, “They ran all over the mom. They didn’t respect her, so why would they respect me?” He then goes on to say, “They’re so wrapped up in a different culture than — what I’m trying to say is the right culture, the better one to pick from.”

Now, the reporter wanted to find out if this was coded language, if this was somehow referring to race in kind of a subtle way. So the reporter pressed him. He said that Wilson struggled with an answer, going on to say, “Pre-gang culture where you’re just running in the streets, not worried about working in the morning, just worried about your immediate gratification.” And then he goes on to say, “It is the same younger culture that’s everywhere in the inner cities.”

Obviously, these quotes, the article, meant to humanize him, kind of bringing up more questions about his perspectives.

The presstitute are still gunning for Darren Wilson.

Joshua Wilkerson Tortured By DREAM Pal Hermilio Moralez

Crime, IMMIGRATION

Not that you’d know it from tuning in to CNN or MSNBC or CBS or ABC, but the Senate held another of its Brownian Motion hearings—to create the impression that its doing something to protect the people. Or, “dedicated to the families who lost loved ones thanks to illegal aliens,” as Breitbart puts it somewhat more hopefully. Particularly horrible was the demise of Joshua Wilkerson by an illegal alien with whom he “had been friends for at least five years,” and to whom Joshua had given a ride home from school.

Mom Laura Wilkerson is right. Unless the same is done to “a Senator, a Congressman, the President, even another of today’s heroes, someone from Hollywood”—nothing will come of the exercise.

Breitbart.com has the testimony of Ms. Wilkerson, prefacing the grisly autopsy details shared with an explanation:

Ms. Wilkerson’s son was murder by an illegal immigrant who, because he came to the country as a minor, would have qualified for Obama’s 2012 executive amnesty granted to illegal immigrant minors — or so-called DREAMers, whom Obama insists “belong here.”

Border patrol and immigration officials have explained that executive amnesty for illegal minors was, in large part, responsible for the surge of children coming across the border last summer.

Unlike most Western countries in which all foreign nationals illegally residing in the country are subject to immigration laws, in the United States, the left has effectively carved out a sector of the illegal immigrant population — illegal minors — who are exempt from immigration law. In so doing, the left has created a perpetual cycle of chain of amnesty– as evidenced by Obama’s 2014 amnesty in which he decided to suspend immigration laws for the parents of DREAMers.

Wilkerson read aloud portions of the gut-wrenching autopsy: “‘This body is received in a grey body bag. There’s a tag on his toe that bears the name, Joshua Wilkerson. This is a white male weighing a hundred pounds. He is tied up with braided rope — 13 loops around his neck in a slipknot. It goes behind his back through his back belt loop. It goes to his hands and his feet, behind his body. He has multiple fractures in his face and nasal cavity. His throat and his voicebox are crushed.’”

Wilkerson took a deep breath and continued, looking at the senators before her with a steady gaze. “He was kicked so hard in the stomach that it sent his spleen into his spine, and sliced it in two … The medical examiner said it was torture.”

She returned to the text of the autopsy: “‘This body has significant skin loss on his buttocks, his abdomen, his penis, his hands, and his face. He has one stick of gum and a tardy slip in his pocket.”

“This was our family’s 9/11 terrorist attack by a foreign invader, whether you want to recognize it or whether you do not,” Wilkerson said. “This government continues to fail or even recognize that we have an issue. Americans are dying daily at the hands of criminals that we don’t even know are here.”

“You’re officially notified today there’s a problem when this happens. You can’t deny it any longer. You cannot you cannot stand by and ignore our families — our American families. You’re elected by Americans, not any other country. You should be for Americans,” she emphasized. “If you want to sit quietly on the sidelines, you’ve thrown your hat into the ring already. Your silence speaks volumes. You’re either for Americans, or you’re not.

“I will not give up another one of my children so that a foreign person can have a nicer life. I’m not going to do it. You don’t understand the pain. It’s so deep in the soul — in the place you don’t even recognize you have. There aren’t words to describe the pain to someone who has not gone through it. I’m not giving up another kid,” she said.

Wilkerson then issued a blistering attack on sanctuary city policies that provide safe harbor and anonymity for dangerous, criminal aliens who are living illegally in the United States. She said …
