UPDATED (10/23): Has John McCain Heard Of ‘We The People’?

Constitution, Foreign Policy, John McCain, Neoconservatism

The ironically named National Constitution Center in Philadelphia has honored Sen. John McCain who cares not at all for the Constitution. In his acceptance address, the man dishonors voters who voted to be done with advancing John McCain’s ideas around the globe.

That’s how faithful McCain is to the unique constitutional principle of a government by the people, and not a government by a cabal of elites bent on advancing ideas with The People’s blood and treasure. A government by The People, not by one John McCain, is a bedrock of the US Constitution.

McCain on Monday cautioned against the US turning toward “half-baked, spurious nationalism” during an event honoring the war hero’s contributions.
Reflecting on his decades-long political history, McCain warned that to “fear” the world the US has led for the better part of a century, “abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe” and “refuse the obligations of international leadership … for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems” is unpatriotic.
“As unpatriotic,” he continued, “as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”

UPDATE (10/23): One very respectable journalist did not think McCain a hero.

The Closest We’ll Get To A W A L L Is A W A R. With North Korea

Donald Trump, Foreign Policy, John McCain, War

Tuesday, President Donald Trump warned: “North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

For his reckless threat against North Korea, President Trump was castigated by John McCain—composer of the jingoistic jingle, “Bomb, Bomb, bomb Iran,” whose favorite word in the dictionary is “war.” Pot. Kettle. Black:

McCain said he was unsure if that rhetoric constituted a threat of military action, but said that most previous presidents wouldn’t make a threat unless they were ready to act.
“I don’t know what he’s saying and I’ve long ago given up trying to interpret what he says,” the Senator told KTAR. “It’s not terrible but it’s kind of the classic Trump in that he overstates things.” He noted, however, that Trump’s remarks could be pivotal in escalating a confrontation with North Korea, which could ultimately endanger South Korea in what he said could be a catastrophic scenario.

The governor of Guam, a sensible man, was more concerned about “Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) [an awful man] for apparently being open to an all-out conflict in the western Pacific. Graham said on CBS News that he does not want a war with North Korea, but ‘if there’s going to be a war, it’s going to be in the [Pacific] region.'”

“As far as I’m concerned, as an American citizen, I want a president that says that if any nation such as North Korea attack Guam, attack Honolulu, attack the west coast, they will be met with Hell and fury,” said [Eddie Calvo].

So far, it looks like the closest we’ll get to a W A L L is a W A R. With North Korea.

Republicans Will Regret Celebrating Robert Mueller As Savior (And Other Stuff)

Conservatism, Donald Trump, Foreign Policy, John McCain, Neoconservatism, Republicans

*Joe Lieberman, at the top of President Trump’s list of potential FBI directors, is a neoconservative.
*Republicans will regret celebrating a life-long, Deep-State operative as a savior.
* And, who will stand by the plucky Kurds?

Trump Today (5/18): A Nod To Neocon Joe Lieberman & The Mythologizing Of Mueller

Donald Trump, Intelligence, John McCain, Neoconservatism, The State, War

POTUS had edged closer to picking Joe Lieberman, John McCain’s evil twin, to direct the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The old “I saw into his heart and it was good” balderdash. They bonded. Silly me. I had imagined that candidate Trump had “bonded” with the American people and would remember their wishes once THEY MADE HIM president.

Lieberman and America First: never the twain shall meet.

Lieberman is a neoconservative by any other name, committed to McCain’s national-greatness through perpetual war.

Next, Republicans are either seriously dumb or serious about wanting to end the Trump presidency and promise (although the two GOP facets are not mutually exclusive). They’ve joined the Democrats in mythologizing “former FBI director Robert Mueller as special counsel in charge of the FBI’s investigation into Russian attempts to influence the 2016 election,” a synonym for killing the Trump presidency. The president, or course, has done his fair share of that.

Ultimately Mueller is Deep State, he’s always been Managerial State material, heart and mind.

Mueller thinks like those unelected bureaucrats, intelligence officers and military men seeking to unelect Donald Trump think.
