The Fix Is In

Barack Obama,Healthcare

“So where do we stand in the health care chain reaction, cooked-up in the Barack Obama command-and-control centers? Let’s see. Having destroyed the market for health insurance, the president turned to another parlor game, hailed today by the daytrippers at CNN and the New York Times as a ‘health fix’ and a ‘fix for canceled plans.'”

“Yes, the fix is in. Parsed, the president’s advice to the millions who’ve lost coverage is, essentially, ‘I’ll let you keep your already canceled policies through 2014. Feel free to take it up with your insurance company.'”

The above is from this week’s upcoming column. Read it later tonight on WND.

On a serious note: If you’ve lost your health care insurance plan, it’s safe to say it’s not coming back.

“The president’s reversal” is the latest NYT chestnut for “the president’s plan.”

Last night Sen. Ted Cruz led the way in renewing his call to repeal Mephisto’s medical plan. Until last night, I had only heard meek requests to reform and delay O-Care. (“Affordable, personal, portable health care,” said the senator.)

Duly, Speaker John A. Boehner found the resolve to paraphrase: “The only way to fully protect the American people is to scrap this law once and for all.”

“The president’s announcement also drew a cool reaction from insurers”:

“Changing the rules after health plans have already met the requirements of the law could destabilize the market and result in higher premiums for consumers,” said Karen M. Ignagni, the president of America’s Health Insurance Plans, a trade group. “Premiums have already been set for next year based on an assumption about when consumers will be transitioning to the new marketplace. If now fewer younger and healthier people choose to purchase coverage in the exchange, premiums will increase, and there will be fewer choices for consumers.”
A White House official confirmed that “we don’t have a commitment from state insurance commissioners” to go along with the president’s new policy. State insurance regulators also said they had not discussed it with the administration.
