You Can Lead a Filly to Water But …

Democracy,Foreign Policy,Sarah Palin,War

On Freedom Watch tonight, Judge Napolitano tried his best to encourage Sarah Palin to gracefully bow out of her interventionist foreign affairs stand, and concede that Libya is best left to the Libyans. After all, the governor had just been discussing the dire need to scale back government activities and reach. Nevertheless, eight minutes or so into the conversation, Palin said “yes” to the question, “Do we have any business inserting ourselves into yet a third Muslim country’s’ affairs.” (HERE)

You can lead a filly to water but you can’t make her drink (or is it think?).

“Arab nations,” admits Patrick Buchanan, “have never produced freedom, prosperity or progress on a large scale.. They will not [succeed now]. The great Arab revolution will likely fail. And when it does, those other passions coursing through the region will rise to dominance. And what are they but ethnonationalism, tribalism and Islamic fundamentalism?” (HERE)

Perhaps if the Judge had put it Pat’s way, Sarah might have reconsidered urging more sacrifices to Moloch.

Could it be that he was letting her have enough “rope” to hang herself in regards to running for President?

I for one could not support her based just on that response.

Wow, just barely started on some of the comments on the pro Palin website you linked to and couldn’t stand it anymore. “Air strikes coordinated with allies and the rebels could aid them and help oust Qadaffi” where have we heard that before?

BUSH-IN-A-SKIRT denounces the “laissez faire” foreign policy of the left (and also non interventionist libertarians!). It is “Barack Obama’s job as the leader of the free world to contain the EVIL”. She alludes to Lockerbie (why not the Barbary Pirates of the 1790’s) as if there is no statute of limitations on going to war with anyone who we had PREVIOUS disputes with decades earlier. President Palin would “do her job” and invade the 50 or so places of EVIL: Ivory Coast, Venezuela, Cuba, Zimbabwe, China, Belarus, North Korea and any other place of “evil” .

I don’t get apoplectic about “President Obama” (eeek eeek) – because the Republicans, drenched in neocon messianic imperialist rhetoric, would probably do even worse in foreign policy. I count Ron Paul and Gary Johnson as welcome exceptions.

By the way, apparently the military murdered Karzai’s cousin in Afghanistan one week after they murdered 9 children gathering firewood. Thank you, troops for protecting my liberties!!! Maybe next week, you can kill 18 kids and make me even freer! This is the insidious nonsense in the Gospel of Palin and one of several reasons why I find that self-promoting knee-jerk rightwing intellectual lightweight Palin to be annoying.

MP- Your right the GOP can screw up foreign policy worse than the Rats LOLLL!!!

RC- Ya Palin is usually wrong on foreign policy & has jumped all over the place on illegal immigration

IIRC Palin stated this on one of Judge Naps shows

” I’m a big fan of the Paul family, I wish there were more Pauls there.”

Palin is dead on in Energy policy & Pretty good in Economic Policy & Freedom , I would say she is 50% + on the Freedom side on issues , so we should look at ways to get Palin & peeps that think like her the other 50 % of the way towards Freedom

So it is all of our jobs to Educate-Articulate-Implement the concept of Freedom from the local level to the District of Confusion

That’s how you Win It !
