UPDATED (10/13): ‘Liberal Brains Are Pickled In The Formaldehyde Of Identity Politics’

Barack Obama, Democrats, History, Left-Liberalism And Progressivisim, Multiculturalism, Political Correctness, War

Writing about the death of the liberal anti-war sensibility and movement, brilliant old-school liberal John Pilger notes that nothing penetrates those “liberal brains pickled in the formaldehyde of identity politics. Commodified and market-tested ‘diversity’ is the new liberal brand. …”

The Killing of History:

… Europe is threatened again with becoming a military training ground for nuclear weapons. We must raise our voice against this.”

But not in America. The thousands who turned out for Senator Bernie Sanders’ “revolution” in last year’s presidential campaign are collectively mute on these dangers. That most of America’s violence across the world has been perpetrated not by Republicans, or mutants like Trump, but by liberal Democrats, remains a taboo.

Barack Obama provided the apotheosis, with seven simultaneous wars, a presidential record, including the destruction of Libya as a modern state. Obama’s overthrow of Ukraine’s elected government has had the desired effect: the massing of American-led Nato forces on Russia’s western borderland through which the Nazis invaded in 1941.

Obama’s “pivot to Asia” in 2011 signalled the transfer of the majority of America’s naval and air forces to Asia and the Pacific for no purpose other than to confront and provoke China. The Nobel Peace Laureate’s worldwide campaign of assassinations is arguably the most extensive campaign of terrorism since 9/11.

What is known in the US as “the left” has effectively allied with the darkest recesses of institutional power, notably the Pentagon and the CIA, to see off a peace deal between Trump and Vladimir Putin and to reinstate Russia as an enemy, on the basis of no evidence of its alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The true scandal is the insidious assumption of power by sinister war-making vested interests for which no American voted. The rapid ascendancy of the Pentagon and the surveillance agencies under Obama represented an historic shift of power in Washington. Daniel Ellsberg rightly called it a coup. The three generals running Trump are its witness. …

MORE.

Still, this Rightist thanks the liberal ladies of Code Pink for stepping into—and filling—the antiwar void, left and right. The traditional antiwar Right was magnificent during Genghis Bush’s rule. Is it MIA for Trump? As to the intrepid ladies in pink: many of them are mature. Perhaps that’s the reason they have the focus Pilger laments as lost.

UPDATE I (10/13) :

POTUS is picking a fight with the mighty Iranian Revolutionary Guard: Is America alone allowed to have Special Forces?

And indeed, North Korea has since said precisely this:

UPDATE II: How has that bellicosity worked out with North Korea, Mr. president? Dennis Rodman would do better.

North Korea is not ruling out diplomacy, but “before we can engage in diplomacy with the Trump administration, we want to send a clear message that the DPRK has a reliable defensive and offensive capability to counter any aggression from the United States,” the official said.

CNN: “North Korea rejects diplomacy with US for now, source says.

‘The Trump Surveillance Story Explodes’

Barack Obama, Donald Trump

In his Talking Points Memo, Bill O’Reilly distills the Susan Rice twist in “the Trump Surveillance story”:

“Tonight we will give you just the facts, no speculation, no hysteria. The latest from Fox News correspondents Adam Housley and Malia Zimmerman is this: ‘Multiple sources tell Fox News that Susan Rice, former national security adviser under then-President Barack Obama, requested to unmask the names of Trump transition officials caught up in surveillance.’ That is very troubling and if it can be proven, Susan Rice is in major trouble. Also, because the national security advisor was so close to President Obama, he will have to answer questions as well. So you can see an enormous story is developing and it really doesn’t matter whether the liberal mainstream media ignores it. Congress and the FBI will not. To be fair to Ms. Rice, she denies all wrongdoing and should be given the presumption of innocence. That is the American way. Here’s my question: If Susan Rice did surveil the Trump people for a year, what was her motive? This woman is a national security advisor, she’s got a lot of work to do. So why would she be running over to the National Security Agency or the CIA reviewing wiretaps? And why, if a Trump person was involved, would she want the name? The key question here is motivation. Both the House and Senate Intelligence Committees should subpoena Susan Rice immediately, and both committees should send written questions to President Obama. Also, the FBI should interview Ambassador Rice and conduct a very thorough investigation of her behavior. Because if the Trump campaign or the transition team were being spied upon by the Obama administration, that has to be uncovered. Or am I wrong?”

The Factor pursued the Susan Rice story with FoxNews.com investigative reporter Malia Zimmerman. “We will be covering this story for weeks and months,” she predicted, “because it’s so vast and we don’t know so many things. We don’t know why they were surveilled and why President Trump and his family may have been included. This was going on for at least a year. We have intelligence sources and on Monday we were able to confirm that it was Susan Rice who did the unmasking. We believe someone in another agency may have told her to request the records and have those names unmasked. This whole thing was about embarrassing Donald Trump and making his presidency unstable, and it’s pretty clear that laws were broken.”

The Donald Vs. The ‘Deep State’

Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Intelligence, The State

“The Donald Vs. The ‘Deep State'” is the current column, now on TownHall.com. An excerpt:

President Trump has credibly accused Obama of wire-tapping the Trump Tower phones during the 2016 campaign.
Whether the tapping of Trump Tower phones can be traced to Obama; whether it’s true or false—consider the counter-accusations floated by President Donald Trump about Barack Obama as part of a strategy.

The president is in survival mode. He’s backed into a corner and is fighting back with brio, counter-punching at the Machine intent on unseating him. The Donald is destabilizing the destabilizers.

The opinion makers were incensed. “He had no evidence when he smeared his predecessor. Just contemplate the recklessness—the sheer indifference to truth,” yelped the New York Times. “The administration can’t substantiate the wire-tapping claim,” screeched the MSNBC collective. On CNN it’s been incontinent outrage, every hour of each day, since president Trump shot across the bow at Obama.

Marching in lockstep, media have ruled that Trump’s wire-tapping taunt is unworthy of investigation. At the same time, the RussiaGate conspiracy with which media are hobbling the Trump presidency, and for which no credible proof exists—that’s beyond reproach as a news story.

Fake News’ fantastical idée fixe is that the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin to rob their “beloved” Hillary Clinton of her presidential birthright. To them, that’s what you’d call a perfectly legitimate and logical line of inquiry!

A CORRUPT NEWBORN? COME AGAIN?

Pursuing an investigation of the Trump Administration on the grounds that it’s deeply corrupt is like accusing a newborn baby of stealing a sibling’s toys. Trump’s policy making “past” is a few weeks old; Trump’s political record a few months old. Donald Trump is a political newborn.

In the language of law, President Trump has no political criminal record. (Come to think of it, El Chapo has a cleaner criminal record than the last two American presidents. El-C had menaced and murdered fewer people than 43 or 44.)

If anything, the counterclaim against Obama is much more intuitive. Obama has a long, checkered political past, having passed the “Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Amendments Act of 2008. This legislation retroactively legalized the Bush administration’s illegal and unconstitutional surveillance, first revealed by The New York Times in 2005, and indemnified the telecommunications companies for their cooperation in these acts.” (The assessment excerpted is courtesy of Bill Moyers, considered an august force on the Left.) …

Obama-Soros Commies Likely Orchestrating Coup To Overthrow Trump

Barack Obama, Democrats, Donald Trump, Elections 2008, Nationhood, Pseudoscience, Psychiatry

President Trump should quit being so naive (“I will bring us all together”), if he wants to get to make America Great again. Or else, he’ll find himself being overthrown by the Soros-Obama organized rabble.

The US is no longer a nation, but a mass of competing, fractious factions. We The Deplorables are the weakest, because so naive, civilized and sweet. Trump Nation will be toast unless we stand up and fight.

How do we know the protests around the country, so loud in states and counties that went for Trump, are inorganic? How do we know that afoot is a coup attempt?

One clue the unthinking media, Fake and Fox News, are too dumb to point out is this:

Unlike the Tea Party, which sprung up a year into the Obama presidency, and in response to actual and specific policies enacted (see Wikipedia’s Tea Party Protests); the country wide orchestrated coup against President Trump has arisen a mere month into his taking office, in regions where he won handily, and not in response to anything but the existence of President Trump.

For none of the president’s executive orders has impacted anyone (but illegal aliens) yet.

Here are the executive orders signed so far by President Trump. As the agitators at CNN wrote, “Obamacare order could have little initial impact.”
