Egos In The Anchor’s Chair

Ann Coulter, Etiquette, IMMIGRATION, Journalism, Media

On the rare occasions that Fox News entertains edifying guests, the Ego in the Anchor’s Chair can’t help but make sure he or she is heard above all others.

A case in point: The Megyn Kelly extravaganza (my, is she becoming a waste of time). The woman invited Ann Coulter to educate one of the stupidest men on TV: Geraldo Rivera. Instead, Rivera was allowed to noodle on endlessly and Megyn stole precious time from Ms. Coulter to work through her own ignorance of the word “polemicist” (which is also how my book is often described).

Sean Hannity’s act is way worse. The Egos have their clique. Larry Elder is not as close to Fox News’ hosts as Juan Williams is. The result: Hannity invited Williams to scream over Elder. Why is this good TV? Why don’t their ratings suffer?

No Trump Apology Tour?

Celebrity, Elections, IMMIGRATION, Media

Donald Trump is on the right track, speaking truth to the powers that be, and refusing to be cowed into apologies for his outspokenness. There is no greater achievement for an anti-politician than to be denounced by career politicians and their puppeteers.

“NBC is so weak and so foolish,” Trump taunted, “to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States.” And: “They will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won’t stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be.”

The billionaire was responding to NBC’s decision to sever ties with him and boycott his shows because he, Trump, spoke candidly about the chaos on the border with Mexico.

Donald Trump: “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. … They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with [them]. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people. But I speak to border guards, and they tell us what they’re getting.”

Why The National, Disproportionate Preoccupation With Two Perps?

Crime, IMMIGRATION, Justice, Law

It took hundreds of law-enforcement officers, aided by border patrol agents, to corner and catch two outlaws, on the lam in northern New York for three weeks. The manhunt for notorious killers Richard Matt and David Sweat is over (read the tedious details for yourself). As the law spares no effort in … praising itself, we can ponder the disproportionate obsession with these two criminals.

In particular, criminals of the Matt and Sweat caliber (or potential) cross the country’s Southwest, wide-open borders almost every day. They go on to integrate into drug cartels (yes, I’m pro-legalization; always have been), as drunk drivers and petty or not-so-petty criminals. No one stops them. No one is allowed to ask them for their pedigree.

So why the out-of-whack preoccupation with these two perps?

Coulter On Courting The Hispanic Vote

Ann Coulter, Democracy, IMMIGRATION, Republicans

It’s the Sailer Strategy that Ann Coulter articulates, and brilliantly so. No wonder she doesn’t have a television show: she outsmarts the other hosts and higher-ups. We can’t have that in the house.

Indeed, Bill O’Reilly looks decidedly unhappy, as Ann darts around him like Muhammad Ali around Joe Frazier:

“… The way Republicans win is by driving up the white vote. It’s not by appealing to women, to blacks, to Hispanics. How about for once appealing to your base? The Democrats don’t obsess on, ‘How do we get gun rights voters to support us a tiny bit more? How do we get pro-lifers to support us? Let’s get a slice of the evangelicals.’ The Republicans have been tricked into a suicidal electoral strategy,” said Coulter. “Had Romney won 71 percent of the Hispanic vote, he would still have lost. Had he got four points more of the white vote, he would have won. What should Republicans be going for?!”

Ms. Coulter added that “the strategy she favors led to a landslide victory for Ronald Reagan,” who got the smallest black vote of any president between LBJ and Obama, and WON.

About the polls stating that the country wants amnesty, Ms. Coulter, who analyzes this particular deception in “Adios!”, comments that “these polls are not meant to quantify opinion but to move it. Usually the questions present two options neither of which exists in the real world: shackling and deporting illegal aliens or rounding them up at gunpoint. Are you a nice person or are you mean. But the most important way polling gets the desired results is by polling ALL adults (Jessie Waters’ World), when you desired samples is likely voters. Not to mention oversampling Democrats.

As always, and before a smart Alec libertarian somehow infers from this post that I want Republicans elected:

1. Nowhere have I argued anything of the sort.
2. The conditions that would lead Republicans to lose elections FOREVER are the same set of conditions that would cause libertarians to potentially lose, too, were they the second party in the duopoly.
