Is Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel the most beautiful woman in the world? Indisputably. Her face is simply exquisite. Poise and manners are perfect too. Mrs. Al-Taweel’s simple, rich-girl solutions to endemic unemployment sound more left-liberal than classically liberal, but her heart is pure and she is bright. Married to “Buffett of Arabia,” Ameerah Al-Taweel is also terrifically wealthy. I hope she does not pick up any ho-like mannerisms while in America.

UPDATE (Sept. 25): It would seem that Princess Al-Taweel is a “micro-credit cultist.” The role of the NGO, as she see it, is to encourage economic growth by doling out loans to plucky people who want to start a business. Her belief in the “Micro-Credit Cult” is understandable. Saudi Arabia is a rentier state, where an aristocratic, authoritarian upper-class manages the country’s vast natural resource of oil. In the Saudi situation, this custodian class is probably more benevolent than a democratic despotism would be.

Piersing Christine O’Donnell

Admittedly, it didn’t take much to revive the moribund CNN slot which had been occupied for decades by the braindead Larry King. Piers Morgan is a lefty, but for a bloke who works for CNN—and does lightweight stuff—Piers does a good interview. (I mean, contrast Morgan with the mindless Anderson Cooper!)

And boy-oh-boy, did Mr. Morgan, politely yet emphatically, expose Madam Christine O’Donnell’s high-and-mighty antics. The former Republican candidate for Senate in Delaware appeared on “Piers Morgan Tonight” to promote a book (which some major publisher, sadly, found worth publishing). O’Donnell being O’Donnell, she refused to answer a question about a topic she discussed in the very book her host had had the courtesy to read. (I give Piers props for that; it must have been torture.)

Speaking of mindless and narcissism, here Cooper goes into paroxysm of laughter over a an overwritten spoof he or one of his side kicks wrote about actor “Gerard Depardieu’s [recent]… airplane peeing incident.” I find the Keith Obermann-like bloated text from which Cooper was reading far more offensive that the actor’s behavior (which you just know had to be provoked by the American airline on which he was flying).

Talkers Fear Losing Top-Dog Status

Louis Story of the New York Times is as good as any female fixture on your typical FoxNews panel. Louis loves Uncle Sam and speaks with a sibilance. Like GOP devotee Ann Coulter, Story thinks that investigating and further regulating Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s and Fitch—credit rating agencies all—is a good idea, as if that act would alter the reality of America’s debt, public and private. (The first amounts to $15 trillion, the last to $50 trillion or thereabout, I believe.)

Isn’t it interesting that so many sinecured commentators, no matter their brand of political whoring (Republican or Democrat), are furious about the downgrading of America from its status as best, AAA borrower? Is it patriotism that powers the fuming pundits? Not at all; Rand and Ron Paul are true patriots.

SAVING FACE VS. FACING REALITY. Here’s what’s a foot: The media talking heads are props to the politicos. They are all paddling as hard as they can to save face, even if it means not facing reality.

The talkers are a mirror image of the political class, reflecting and reinforcing the opinions—and the reality—of the elites. More often than not, the chattering classes are as privileged and protected as their masters. As long as they play to the “Demopublican Monopolists,” and sustain the respective parties’ constituencies, media “mavens” will retain their perches, their pensions, and their sizable salaries.

But what if they lose top-dog status? The Talkers are upset that as the dop-dog country loses its economic prestige and power in the world, so too will they be degraded in the world. Perhaps they fear, instinctively, a world in which we switch on RT or Al Jazeera to hear what their babes are saying? They should.

Considering the US’s economic vital signs, our professional gabbers are up the creek without a paddle.
