UPDATED: Little America At The Tip Of Africa

Affirmative Action, IMMIGRATION, Multiculturalism, Nationhood, Political Correctness, Race, South-Africa

In “Little America At The Tip Of Africa,” I continue my conversation with South African philosopher Dan Roodt, Ph.D., a noted Afrikaner activist, author of the polemical essay “The Scourge of the ANC,” literary critic and director of PRAAG. (Previously on WND: “The Elephant In The Pistorius Courtroom.”) An excerpt:

ILANA MERCER: The dominant-party state that is South Africa is steeped not in an African creed but in an American one. One of your most astute observations has been that post-apartheid South Africa is very much a creature of the Anglosphere. In the U.S., centrally planned and enforced multiculturalism is twinned with open borders for Third-World peoples. How has South Africa fallen in line?

DAN ROODT: Many people see South Africa as an experiment in multiculturalism and open-borders. Almost robotically, we’ve adopted most of the American liberal precepts in a very naïve, knee-jerk fashion. Some people are even urging that we abolish borders completely, to allow any of the billion Africans north of our country to come and settle in South Africa, much like your government is doing vis-à-vis Central-American dependents. However, our experience of the massive illegal immigration we have had since 1994 is that it increases intolerance, especially among the poor and the unemployed. Locals regularly kill foreigners and we have had so-called xenophobic riots.

In some towns close to the border, the foreign population is about 80 percent. Foreigners have access to public health-care facilities, so many are “obstetrical tourists” who come here to have babies. “Anchor babies,” as you call them in the U.S. Generally speaking, state hospitals are getting worse and worse, also as a result of being overburdened with foreign Africans. …

UPDATE (7/25): FACEBOOK THREAD:

Myron Robert Pauli: While it seems anti-intuitive, the “beneficiaries” of affirmative action are really. in the long haul, the main victims. Consider among other things” (a) you and everyone are told that you are effectively born with a inherent disability by virtue of your parents, (b) you are eventually given phony credentials and phony expectations for which you are vastly inferior to most others with the same real credentials, (c) everyone inherently knows it but like the”Emperor’s New Clothes” remain goofy and silent … – not necessarily something to be proud of.

Ilana Mercer: Myron, I believe you are echoing Demopublican orthodoxy. What Dan Roodt says is the real deal: some do double duty for others. As far as I can see, and contra to Jason Riley of WSJ, affirmative action recipients do quite well in the make-believe universe propped up by the money and labor of others.

An Open Border Is Open Season On Private Property, Persons Included

IMMIGRATION, Israel, libertarianism, Private Property, Terrorism

This is “scary stuff,” writes BAB contributor Myron Pauli. “I wonder what the Open-Borders crowd thinks about this ‘right’ to travel into Israel to kill and kidnap people.”

Myron was referring to the WaPo’s “How Hamas uses its tunnels to kill and capture Israeli soldiers”:

It was a Monday in October 2013 when residents of a kibbutz called Ein Hashlosha just east of the Gaza border heard strange sounds.

It may have been difficult to pinpoint the source. The sounds weren’t coming from above ground — but beneath it. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soon discovered that the sounds signaled an “extremely advanced and well prepared” tunnel.

Not only was the burrow remarkable in depth and length — 1.5 miles long and 66 feet underground — it was equipped with electricity and contained enough cookies, yogurt and other provisions to last its occupants several months. Israeli forces estimated that Hamas had dumped $10 million and 800 tons of concrete into the two-year project.

Such “terror tunnels,” the Israeli military said in a statement Friday, are “complex and advanced.” And their use, Israel said, is “to carry out attacks such as abductions of Israeli civilians and soldiers alike; infiltrations into Israeli communities, mass murders and hostage-taking scenarios.”

An open border is open season on private property, persons included, Myron. Libertarians, it would appear, are too flaccid to deal with this reality, other than to say, “Under anarchy the issue would be sorted out.” That’s a synonym for intellectual cop-out.

Not-In-My-Back-Yard (NIMBI) Liberals For Illegal Aliens

Democrats, IMMIGRATION

The very definition of a Not-In-My-Back-Yard (NIMBI) liberal is Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who said a resounding no to housing central American illegal desperadoes in his state.

At the same time, sleazemeister O’Malley scolded the White House for a belated proposal, made only due to public pressure, “to give new legal authorities to the Department of Homeland Security to expedite the deportation of the unaccompanied minors and their families.”

Migrants from Central America and other non-contiguous nations are granted special legal protections that allow them to plead their case to an immigration court, under a 2008 law designed to prevent human trafficking. (CNN)

“’We are not a country that should turn children away and send them back to certain death,’ O’Malley said last week at a National Governors Association meeting in Nashville.”

A scum bag and a liar. “No proof has been advanced for the claim that, all of a sudden, things in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador have worsened. The fact that Central American minors are arriving, hat-in-hand,” is [advanced as the only] proof that their homes have become uninhabitable. (“Desperately Seeking Desperadoes in Diapers”)

Three Almighty Amigos

Business, IMMIGRATION

Apples and oranges. The article “Break the Immigration Impasse,” as Mark Levin pointed out today, has absolutely nothing to do with the deluge of Central-American dependents across the Southern US border. Written by three business men who’re worth many billions—SHELDON G. ADELSON, WARREN E. BUFFETT and BILL GATES—the editorial dwells on skilled immigration. The new arrivals, for whom the welcome-mat is being rolled out, are unskilled. To switch the three amigos’ words around, they’ll “make hefty withdrawals from the economy, not deposits.”

Aside from conflating their wishes with “the nation’s interests,” the three billionaires manage also to cram the short op-ed with misconceptions (or lies).

There is no limit to the number of geniuses American companies can import through the open-ended O-1 visa program, which allows unlimited access to individuals with unique abilities. I imagine that a graduate student with unique abilities can apply for an 0-1 visa.

Levin is absolutely correct. These ponces have written an op-ed in a paper no real American will even read, purporting to know what’s good for the same folks and their families. Does Gates send his kids to the overflowing and backward public schools? Do bully boy Buffett’s grandchildren mix with yours at the local community college? Do ADELSON, BUFFETT and GATES live in third-world east Los Angeles?

What hubris.
